Attendees: David L., Elliott W., Elton S., Ed B., Dave D., Simon T., Ravi, Paul B. Elliott reported that a request from Indiana was received for some PMTs from the Rad-Phi experiement to be shipped back to IU. Elton was going to contact the appropriate person(s) to take care of this. Simon Taylor will his new job tomorrow working for Ohio Univ. on Hall-D. He has a new cubicle near the DAQ group on the 6th floor of ARC. There was a discussion on what equipment will be needed for Simon to get started (commputer for office, equipment for FDC) We had a short discussion about office space at JLab. Solenoid: Some leaky plumbing from the solenoid was extracted and is being examined for corrosion. A small leak has been detected on coil 2 after reassembling. It would be nearly impossible to find the leak and it is so small that we could just live with it (in the 1-2E-8 range). A plan exists to try cold shocking it to make sure it doesn't get worse. Cold test using LN2 would cost about $6k for setup and testing of the first coil. About $1.5-$2k per coil after that (at same sitting). To come back and do another coil set will cost about $5k to setup the first and again, $1.5-$2k each after. It was agreed that we should make the investment in this test. Detector review organization: 21st,22nd of October. Review committee participants have confirmed the dates. Electronics: Elton contacted IU with the suggestion that JLab has some manpower to devote to development of the FADC modules. JLab also has interest in the FADC beyond Hall-D.
