Hall-D Software Meeting Nov. 2, 2004 Attendees: Paul E., Richard J., Ed B., David L., Zisis P. ,Elliott W., Alexander S., Grep R., Simon T., Ryan M., Elliott W. ,Mark I., Elton S. Agenda: ------- 1. hitClusterView in HDDM David L. 2. BitKeeper 3. New meeting time 4. Cherenkov Thickness 1. Dave discussed a proposal to add a clusterView to HDDM. This arose from a meeting between Elton, Ed, Elliott, Simon, and Dave last week. The discussion focused on how packages should access data. There was a consensus that the software should be designed "top-down" so that all information used by a particular object is obtained from methods. There was a concern that the FSU group working on tracking would need something close to the final access mechanism. Otherwise, modifications would be significant later on. The FSU group pointed out that they are exploring alogorithms for now and fully expect major revisions anyway. Hence, the interface can be designed more or less independantly for now. 2. We discussed moving hddm to BitKeeper control. First, an access mechanism for outside institutions needs to be established. Dave believes this is simple and will take care of it. Once that is done, then a date can be set for the official change. 3. With daylight savings time, the pressure of class schedules has been eased and we can return to our 13:00 EST meeting time. 4. Elton reported that Ravi discovered a descrepancy in the Cherenkov detector depth. This has been reported/discussed in a few e-mails. Elton was going to coordinate with Ravi and Richard so that Richard can sure that the most current numbers are in hdds.
