GlueX Software Meeting March 15, 2005 Attending: David L. Matthew S. Richard J. Elliott W. Simon T. Paul E. Zisis P. Mauricio B Nikolai K. Joachim K. Matt B. Agenda: 1. UPV in Geant (Alexander) 2. Mutiple HDDM versions (all) 3. Meeting regularity (all) -------------------------------------------------------- 1. Alexander wasn't available today. Postponed until next week. 2. A minor problem has occurred which results from having two incompatible versions of hddm_s.c and hddm_s.h in the CVS repository. See the forum posting at: http://tantalus.phys.uregina.ca/gluex/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=59&sid=1b67ae9ea1210636a79f4cf9711c8cd7 We attempted a discussion of this, but most people were not familiar enough with the details of the repository structure. It was decided that David and Richard would discuss this offline and decide on an appropriate course of action. 3. Richard suggested we adopt a policy of more regular meetings. This suggestion was actually made a few weeks ago after a few weeks of spotty meetings with some last minute cancellations. The idea (as I undertood it) was: 1. Cancellations should be made reasonably well in advance of the meeting 2. It is better to meet briefly and give status reports than to cancel the meeting outright. To address item 2., David proposed we adopt an unofficial policy to not cancel two meetings in a row so that we're guaranteed to meet at least every two weeks. Our schedule would still be to meet every week, but cancellations would not occur back to back. There wasn't much discussion here and the VRVS connection dropped out in the middle of it. This reccomendation will be enacted unless someone else would like to revisit it at a future meeting.
