Action Items From Last Fall

  1. Tim and Eugene will complete the installation schedule for the Lehman review and this will form the basis of our installation schedule.
  2. Curtis will ask everyone delivering a detector component to JLab to write down what they see occuring from the time the detector is delivered until it is installed an cabled up.
  3. Beni agreed to create a shopping list for the CDC of items that would be needed at CMU to carry out a test involving between 3 and 7 125MhZ Flash ADCs. This would include low- and high- voltage systems as well as the Flash modules.
  4. We will ask at the Wednesday meeting about groups sending manpower to Jefferson Lab.

Minutes

Eugene reported that rebaselining is in progress. A complete new schedule for the remainder of the project will be developed. This is the last possibility to adjust schedule and resources. The review of the schedule is beginning within weeks but final review will occur by the DOE in May. Installation is a large part of the remaining schedule, but it is important to include checkout, calibration, and any commissioning that will take place without the beam.

Tim and Fernando are currently working on a strongly coordinated schedule for mechanical and electrical installation.

It is important that all persons responsible for detector construction develop a plan for installation and initial commissioning without the beam. Questions to answer: what requirements (power, gas, cooling) are needed and when? Who will be doing the work? Where will manpower resources come from? What DAQ and control support is needed?

Finally, Eugene noted that more manpower is needed (ideally contributed by universities) for installation tasks. Many non-technical tasks like cable bundling, can be done by anyone.

Action Items for Next Time

  • Tim will present the overall installation schedule. We agreed this would be a standing agenda item.
  • Matt and Curtis will develop a plan and set of requirements for the FDC and CDC respectively. We will review this at the meeting, and, if it is good, we will circulate to other detector groups to have them produce a similar list.
  • Alex will prepare slides discussing what types of trigger configurations may be available for initial commissioning.
