Minutes

Attending: Tim, Beni, John, Eugene, Yi (JLab); Javiera, Will, Alam, Hayk, Serguei (USM); Zisis, George (UofR); Christina, Pavlos, George (Athens).

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. Update from USM
    1. Light guides
      • update on light guide status
      • material obtained from suppliers to tanning beds, very high quality
      • drawings should be updated to reflect surfaces are planes.
      • Tim: asked for written procedures for polishing
      • Optimizing tradeoff between machining and polishing steps. Better surface quality requires more machining time but less time polishing.
      • Expected schedule produces 80 first article units in three weeks. The possibility of partial delivery, sooner, is being investigated. First article shipping hoped to be in less than one month.
    2. SiPM testing
      • Data shown with fits to extract gain, cross talk. Robust fitting procedure developed.
    3. Station 2 report
      • PDE measurements completed for several sensors and compared to JLab measurements. Find PDE ~ 40%, about twice higher than that measured by JLab.
      • George: Initial measurements at UofR also showed high values for PDE, but (unknown) changes to setup now reproduce JLab results. Three methods are used.
      • Description of measurements will be produced for feedback and comparison to JLab and UofR.
    4. Production Manager Report
      • New personnel hired and trained to conduct production testing.
  4. Comments on Readiness Review: Testing of light sensors for Bcal
  5. USM Web Interface to DB
  6. Status of Testing at JLab
    • The first electronic board for the SiPM production tests is being tested today. Expect the setup to become operational over the next week.
    • Initial round of electronic boards for the Bcal have the standoff holes corresponding to an early version of the mechanical layout. They will have to be redone. With this delay the electronics should be ready in two or three weeks.
