  3. JLab to send files to import into USM cad system (Elton, Tim)
  4. Make progress on USM MOU document (Elton, Will, Eugene)
  5. MC shower 2 GeV, 20 deg but centered on 2nd cell (instead of between cells 2 and 3).

Minutes

Attending: JLab: Beni, Elton, Eugene, John, Sasha, IU: Mihajlo, UofR: Zisis, Andrei, USM:Alam, Will, Serguei

  1. Announcements
    • New participant number for phone conferencing
  2. Review of Action Items
    • Progress on items 3 and 5.
    • Zisis asked about payment for shipment of the Baby Bcal to USM. Credit card payment is planned. Will to contact Zisis with relevant information.
  3. USM report
    1. Slides showing materials which have been assembled for prototyping light guides. Alam or Will: Please post file to portal and link from minutes.
      • Plexiglas material obtained from CERN stores
      • Elton: Request cost estimate of producing completed light guides at USM. Serguei will complete estimate.
      • Testing of light guides will be done CPTA and Hamamatsu SiPMs, as well as photomultiplier tubes.
      • Looking for faster blue 430 nm LEDs. Suggestion is to look at Athens GlueX-doc-1285 and GlueX-doc-1293 calibration reports on the portal, or contacting George Vulgaris directly.
      • Initial machining of small light guides will be accomplished with the small milling machine that will arrive soon. It is relatively inexpensive because it can only machine soft materials such as wood and plastics.
      • Initial light guides will be about 10 cm long. The milling machine has the capability of carving complicated shapes such as Winston Cones.
  4. Discussion of readout options
    1. Geometry. Note added by Elton: Chuck will produce some drawings of some of the preliminary designs to send out to manufacturers to obtain cost estimates.
  5. Bcal Readout Review (July 21)
    1. Reviewers: Stefano Miscetti (INFN, via video), Stepan Stepanyan (Hall B), Howard Fenker (Hall C).
    2. Tentative schedule: July 10: pre-brief material, July 16: slides for presentations.
    3. Discussion of agenda items and charge. Elton will update drafts and repost to web site for review.
  6. Simulations
  7. Discussions on MOU with USM
