Minutes

Attending: Zisis, Andrei (UofR); Tim, Elton, Ben, David, Yi, Beni, Eugene (JLab); Alam, Will, Javiera (USM)

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
    1. E-mail update from Christina (edits by Elton)
    2. Update from Athens: monitoring
      • I was in Geneva last week and clarified the Farnell order and everything, which will be delivered tomorrow.
      • The pacing items are the DigiKey connectors-the ones which connect the flex cable from the LED to the control board : one goes on the LED boards and four on the control boards. These are the ones which will be delivered around 20th August (the last items before stuffing).
      • The LED's were delivered and I carried back in Athens, as well as the 4,000 mini boards.
      • The flex cables have delivery date around 6th of August.
      • I will also start the orders for the control boards,
      • Personnel is disappearing for August vacations, but will try to identify personnel for testing.
    3. Photos of initial version of support
      • First support strip to glue LED boards after light guides are installed did not work because it could not reach sufficiently deep between the smallest light guides. Elton and Tim are revising the support to address the issues that were found.
  3. Update from USM
    1. Drop pulse shape measurements
    2. SiPM Update (Javiera)
      • USM is receiving 640 SiPMs from Hamamatsu tomorrow
      • Shipment to Jlab is getting ready. The package is ready and they are working on the paperwork for invoice, insurance, customs, etc.
      • Elton: Please send us the shipping information when ready, as well as notify out customs broker.
    3. Light guides (Iñaki)
      • Milling started yesterday
      • Material preparation for 200 pieces has been completed
      • Dimensional control of milled light guides shows good uniformity. Online google docs is used to keep track of measurements. Iñaki will send us a link.
      • Expect to have two sets ready by Friday to ship to JLab. Expect weekly shipments thereafter.
  4. Status of testing at JLab
    1. Hall-D ELOG.
    2. Update on the analysis of the production units (Ben St. Laurent)
      • Testing of SiPMs at JLab has been completed.
      • Only one unit is out of specs and needs to be returned.
      • One card (#3) added noise to the system, which degraded the measurements. Checking consistency with Hamamatsu data allows the data to be corrected.
    3. Optimal bias voltage (Yi Qiang)
  5. BCAL Beam Tests 2012:
  6. Status of work at Regina
    1. BCAL hdgeant (David L.)
    2. BCAL Cosmics at Regina
  7. Other
