Minutes

Data Production

  1. Thomas: Paul fixed the reconstruction tests, first results should show up in the next couple of days.
  2. Alex A. is still at the Indiana workshop, but reported the following progress:
    • recon 2017-01 ver01 batch 01, runs 30274 - 30795, currently at 40% (lost 40h due to mss last weekend) [Ed. note: this launch was started 10 days ago].
    • offmon 2017-01 ver18, runs 30796 - 31057, done
  3. Sean reported that the results of the last monitoring run on the high-rate data look good, the FCAL calibration issues are resolved, and the final touches are being applied.
  4. Sean gave updates on two issues regarding simulations that were raised at the last meeting.
    • Thomas wrote up some initial Instructions for Generating Simulations‎. Please send all comments to him.
    • In the last meeting, it was agreed that an important area of focus this summer was updating the smearing of the existing HDGeant simulations. As requested, Sean drafted a plan for accomplishing this before people need to focus on the Fall run. The link includes lists of work items and suggested milestones. People are encouraged to give feedback, add to the lists, and take up some of these projects.
      • There was some discussion on how to incorporate these discussions. Updates should be given weekly at this meeting.
      • A special 1-2 hour meeting on this topic during the first week of August was suggested. At this meeting, the status of each subdetector would be presented, with the aim that tasks which have been performed for other data sets will have been accomplished and that other analyses are being actively pursued.
      • Justin asked if we have a consistent version of mcsmear to match with the reconstruction launch. Sean will look into producing a branch with an appropriate version.

Analysis Focus: Total Cross Sections

  1. Simon is looking at t-dependence with a focus on the phi.
  2. Thomas took a quick look at the ver06 of the 2016 analysis ROOT files - the results look generally okay, but he needs to produce new simulations.
  3. Justin is looking at the pi0 cross section for flux calculations.
  4. Sergey is looking for open-charm production.

Studies: Other

  1. Mahmoud has been looking at the Start Counter efficiencies and is working on wrapping up this analysis, reports were presented at the last SC meeting.

Upcoming Study Schedule

  • Updates on experiment, simulation, and the comparison between the two.
  • Summary/overviews only. Detailed discussions should be held in the appropriate working groups.
  • All talks should be limited to 10 + 5 minutes.

Next Week: Beamline & Triggering

  1. Flux --- Justin
  2. Beam energy --- Beamline Group
  3. Polarization (TPOL & lineshape) --- Beamline Group
  4. Beam Asymmetries --- Alex Austregesilo
  5. Trigger emulation --- Alex Somov
  6. Triggering efficiency --- Alex Somov
