Agenda

  1. Frame Assembly Phase. [1]
    1. Endplates.
    2. Inner Shell.
    3. Support Rods.
  2. Straw Assembly and Installation Phase.
    1. Strawtubes.
    2. Aluminum Donuts.
    3. Aluminum Feed Thrus.
    4. Plastic Donuts.
    5. Plastic Feed Thrus.
  3. Outer-shell installation Phase.
    1. Internal Gas Plumbing.
      1. Gas lines.

    2. Gas window.

Minutes

We went through the general assembly drawings through the chamber being strung. The changes identified are in the connecting rods and bolts:

  • O-ring groove and o-ring in the ends of the rods.
  • A Teflon washer 3 mil over sized in the bolts.
  • A small change was discussed to the gas hook-up at the upstream end of the chamber. Rather than a smooth widget, Gary proposed machining out a barbed gas fitting to make that widget.

Discussions were also carried out on the thermal couples that are to be used. Plans call for three in the down-stream gas plenum, three in the gas volume, and three in the upstream plenum. Curtis will email Fernando to see if he has some low-noise suggestions and Naomi will check to see if she is really seeing pickup from the thermal couple wires. Other than the changes above, everyone is good with the drawings and procedures until electrical hook-up.

The next meeting will move on to the gas plenums to try and finalize those.

Other items:

  • Plastic parts were shipped and should be at CMU on Tuesday Nov. 2. Some of the pin holders are a little tight on the crimp pins. This may be because there were two pin-holder molds to match the total number of parts.
  • 7 spools of wire have been shipped to CMU. This is about 10500 meters and is 75% extra.
  • Steve Christo has been away on vacation. Will check on the crimp heads when he gets back.

Action Items

  1. Specify thermal couples.
  2. Drawings for gas plenums.
