Requirements and things to finalize
- Cool tungsten plug to below temperature that affects lead (327°C)
- 5 cm beam tube through sweep magnet and 6 cm to final target
- Moveable out of beamline
- Be 90% pure or better (price same for 98% pure)
- Steel standoffs in bottom poly sheet
- 1mm al window ok for collimator exit of target
- Beryllium sealing - ongoing discussions with RadCon
- Existing 5cm lead and 1cm steel at collimator exit wall ok
- 10 cm lead at both walls inside collimator cave
- 10 cm distance from beryllium target to downstream vacuum window of.
- Remove PS vacuum chamber and put in 6cm beampipe
- 5 mm gap between beryllium and tungsten so heat does not transfer
Minutes
- Calcs for heating of Tungsten and Beryllium not completed yet - Igor to email Johan
- Eugene asked about temperature sensors - Mark had some suggestions -need rad hard and put on copper plates
- Is 1mm aluminum window at exit of target ok? Should be
Action Items
- Look for temp sensors - Keith/Tim
- Complete heat calcs - Johan
- Determine if 1mm aluminum window ok at exit of target - Igor
- Continue working on drawing package - Keith
