- Notes from the past 24 hours:
- Beam back at 11:30 am, Sasha finished L1 trigger studies by 2:00 pm
- MCC suggests they recalibrate iIon chamber to reduce trip rates. Previously, it was only calibrated up to 80 nA.
- Sergey performed high rate DAQ tests with current up to 900 nA
- David has new online monitoring site up
- CEBAF
- Almost 20 BLM trips/hour through yesterday and into the early morning. Hall C went down around 4 am and BLM trips were significantly reduced. They think there is something wrong with the beam that is being injected into the accelerator.
- Will do a retune of the accelerator around 10am today. Should take 1-2 hours.
- Action Items
- Issues
- Multiple alarms for BCAL downstream environmental sensors. Elton contacts Nick who reports downstream BCAL PLC -Ethernet port quit. Access needed.
- Lots of DAQ issues. Sergey had to revert the software back to a previous version
- Beam Position Issues
- Eugene noticed beam was drifting, which coincided with drops in rates (6:00pm)
- This continued throughout swing shift and into early morning
- [After an extended downtime, beam appears to be stable through the night]
- Hall C went down and then we got a retune where the locks in the accelerator were reset. No more drifting. [https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3608059 Excess rate over the template suggests that significant parts of the beam are striking the diamond frame.
].Improved coherent peak after retune.
- Reports
- Run Plan
- Need to schedule a TAC run
- Can we do this opportunistically?
- Use bleedthrough current?
- Hall C plans to switch experiments on approximately the 22nd. This is around the time of accelerator maintenance, so they may plan to switch experiments then.
- Hurricane Michael arriving this evening. Do we need to take any precautions?
- Week 4 Week 5
- Beam Studies Monday
- RF Recovery Tuesday
- Need to schedule a TAC run

- Notes from the past 24 hours:
- Beam issues most of swing (7hrs to complete amorphous run) and owl shift (~1hr of beam in total).
- CEBAF
- 5th pass separator failed during swing shift and remained problematic into the beginning of owl. Beam back at 3:20am.
- PSS drop in the machine at 3:30 am. No beam until 6am.
- Action Items
- Issues
- Tail on one side of beam in x and y. Richard gives a nice explanation of what may be happening. Beam OK for now. Should we ask for a retune before the weekend?
- MyaViewer missing events
- Lots of issues with DAQ- rocCDC2
