Minutes
Attending: Albert, David L., Rory. Alex, Andrew, Beni, David H., Ilya, Mark, Sergey, Elton, Simon
- Previous CPP meeting: Jan 26, 2022
- Announcements
- Paper submitted to arXiv "Photoproduction of pion pairs at high energy and small angles"
- Letter from the director: "...our colleague and friend, Javier Gomez, passed away tragically on Saturday, Jan. 29."
- Action Items
- Software/Calibration for CPP (David, Alex and Sean)
- DFMWPCMatchedTrack
- Quite a few updates: Simon has updated software projecting tracks to various detectors including Fcal, Fmwpc and new scintillators.
- Studying how to include MWPC hits into PID algorithms.
- David is updating the event viewer to hdview2 for a new window for the MWPC.
- Simon: working on hdgeant4 to emulate the deposited charge, which is presently missing (q instead of dE)
- Mark: The CPP branch has been merged into the master and we will keep a parallel track but attempting to keep the branch from diverging from the master.
- David has started series of dedicated CPP software meetings, which will meet weekly on Thursdays at 12:30-1:30 pm.
- Plan for diamond simulations (Richard)
- PID + AI
- Data for AI (Andrew)
- Working on implementing e+e- PID network into a factory. Need to use the measured momenta instead of kinematically fit values (since a reaction hypothesis may not available at the time PID is performed).
- MWPC Testing
- Move to Hall D
- FMWPC Log Book
- Elton: Arwen was retested with a banana plug on the ground of the LV cable. Noise levels of the order of 400 counts are still visible.
- All MWPCs have been moved to the hall. We will need to reinvestigate the noise levels in situ.
- Elton and Ilya will setup the gas purging (4 hours) and HV on each chamber (1000 V) to check for any broken wires during the move.
- There was quite a bit of discussion about how to handle the noise on the chambers. David: One option might be to readout the MWPCs in raw mode (as we did for TPOL) if the rate is sufficiently low.
- CPP and NPP Experiment Configuration
- CPP-NPP trigger
- DAQ and Electronic Setup (Sergey and Beni)
- Beni is trying to organize access to the DAQ this spring. Elton: need to make sure that there is the time for MWPCs testing.
- Sergey is setting up the the DAQ for MWPCs that can be moved to the integrated Hall D DAQ system.
- Software consolidation (Mark and Simon)
- CPP Simulations
- Pi/mu multiplicities (Elton)
- Other business
- Mark announced that he will be retiring in April.
