- Review new basic 3D model
- Core Section update

- Copper replaced CuW inside and adjacent to magnet coils
- Layout of magnet and components (Stephanie/Keith)
- Demo of AeroGo system successful
- Noise low (less than 70 db in hall, 85db in ramp near compressor)
- No visible dust
- Carbon ring upstream of CPS
- Power supply status - On order, due March 2025
- Met with Survey and Alignment group and agreed on preliminary plan for alignment - will meet again as details develop
- Magnet update (Josh/Stephanie)
- Radiation levels at coils 2.E+4 Gy for a 10000 hour run
- Plan on using copper dump skid to cool magnet - is it adequate LCW?

- Reviewed minutes from last meeting
- Pavel has run the radiation and energy absorption (Fluka) for the latest absorber and shielding configuration
- Hovanes put Pavels finer mesh models into csv files
- Keith changed 3D model geometry to match Pavel's latest
- Copper substituted for CuW in and around magnet
- Radiation levels at magnet coils are 4e4 gray for 10000 hrs running
- No need for expensive epoxy ($5K per gallon)
- CTD-101K resin can be used - good for 4e6 gray minimum
- Need to check on LCW quality of existing dump copper cooling skid for magnet compatibility (Tim)
- Pavel's new geometry has tapered steel upstream of absorber in X and Y - needs
- Also taper in Y in Cu/W in magnet area - adjusted to use the exit size all the way through
- New files with fine granularity in absorber high energy absorption areas are available - Hovanes converted to usable files for ANSYS
- Tim will run new ANSYS models for the complete assembly
- Tim learning FLUENT to verify cooling assumptions
- There needs to be a collimator upstream of radiator
- 1cm diameter hole
- 15 cm deep in Z
- OD of ? cm
- About 10W absorption - no active cooling required
- 80% W, 20% Cu
- Looking at 3D model
- Core assembly coming together
- Met with Alignment group Thursday to discus alignment/fiducialization plan
- Looked at "Noah's Arc" stacking of steel - need features for stacking lead and heavy concrete
- Copper absorber vacuum brazing test piece has been machined - will get tubing ready to braze in coming week
- Air casters for moving - AeroGo demonstration proved to be successful
- 5400 lbs moved with 25 lbs of force
- Core assembly coming together
- Discussion on FSD device to shut down beam if mis-steered - Hovanes has ideas and Pavel will look at feasability considering background
- Lead brick painting awarded - 17% complete
- Magnet Power Supply on schedule to be delivered March 2025
- Magnet DeGauss test still scheduled for summer - Tim will check on any progress
- Tim still writing and analyzing copper and tungsten thermal cyling data for ERR reply to Patrizia - hopefully a draft next week
- Need to link engineering documentation to the KLONG CPS wiki when available - only final documents
