Items for followup from previous meeting
- Bcal section
- Zisis will get a quote from Ross machining to find out how much it would cost to polish a segment (both ends)
- Will will send a shipping address.
- JLab to determine how many fibers could be spared now to use in this project.
- Elton to determine availability of FM pmts (either from the project for loan) or for purchase from Hamamatsu
- Schedule: refinement of schedule by Will with input from Elton and others.

Updated schedule for FM PMT design, from USM
Agenda and Minutes
- Announcements
- Review of Action Items
- Zisis: Currently Ross machining is providing estimate for the full Bcal production. When this is complete they will request an estimate for diamond cutting a section.
- Jan (Alberta) has inquired whether they should ship back the small module used for machine tests. UofR would like it back, but Jim should be consulted before shipment.
- Preliminary report from USM
- Updated schedule (Will)
- Will requested suggestions on how to quantify prototype tests.
- Zisis will provide information on the bcal testing for reference.
- Suggestions on a good light source are welcome.
- A sketch of the test setup would be useful to elicit more feedback.
- Light collection (Will)
- Will requested feedback to his estimate that is 3 times lower than numbers Elton has been using.
- Prototyping planning (Sergey)
- R5505-70 17.5 mm, 26 mm OD vs. H6152-70 17.5 mm, 31 mm OD
- [Note by Elton] The first is the pmt proper, the second is the pmt and assembly. Hamamatsu strongly recommends the assembly because the divider is tricky for this tube.
- CNC modeling mill selection (see documents linked above). USM is setting up to become a specialty shop.
- Purchases are underway, including Hamamatsu 7525 pmt, normal pmt with the same photocathode as the FM pmts.
- Ordered 250 wavelength shifting 1mm fibers, which can be used together with a blue LED.
- R5505-70 17.5 mm, 26 mm OD vs. H6152-70 17.5 mm, 31 mm OD
- KLOE energy resolution (Sergey)
- 1.64% vs. 2.4% KLOE 'b' term (5.5% vs. 6.1% in the ‘a’ term)
- Summary of student activities on Hall D alternative readout project (Alam)
- New lab spaces are being assigned to the Project (Alam)
- Updated schedule (Will)
- Review timeline
- Materials for prototyping
- Bcal signals (Elton)
- MOU with USM
