Minutes
"Attending: Elton, Beni, Alexandre, Hovanes, Eugene (Hall D); Todd (CASA); Pavel (RadCon); Curtis (CMU); Richard (UConn).
- Announcements
- Accelerator Schedule: Weekend: beam to dumplet, Monday morning: lock up Hall D/tagger, evening tune beam to dump, Tuesday: CW to tagger dump, Wed morning: insert radiator
- ARR3 Recommendations
- All recommendations complete and request for operation has been sent to Patrizia
- Final documentation on the completion of items needed for Javier.
- RadCon will tag the completed shielding in the tagger area with a plaque. The completion will be confirmed to Eugene
- Fanning has sent a confirmation of all safety items checked during the walkthrough last Thursday
- Accelerator and Hall D Interface Document - update
- Update on Photon Commissioning (Alexandre)
- small changes to the plan are being implemented including the last links
- Tentative proposal to start shifts: standby shifts on Tue evening/night, start regular shifts on Wed day shift
- Observers in the MCC are welcome during the electron beam tune. Todd suggests that the visits be coordinated with him and Michael. Todd will communicate with Alexandre.
- Use of the nAmp bpms will start Monday by Trent. Feedback can be useful to him.
- Discussion of various variable information being made available to accelerator screens. Ion chambers are currently blank on Hall D pages.
- Alexandre will send the variable names to Pavel. Pavel will also make available a list of RadCon lists that may be useful to Hall D
- Need to take baseline rates of profile monitor before commissioning starts. Hovanes will do this.
- Eugene: Need checklists before starting various plans. Alexandre: There are checklists for the electron beam and photon beam separately. We will go over them during the 8:45 meeting tomorrow or Friday.
- Beam Simulations
- Todd: GEANT how up and running on old laptop, but simulations have not started yet
- Pavel: Getting ready to run the simulations. Could do this by enhancing the neutron production by a factor of 50. If not sufficient to get enough statistics, he may work with Richard to run jobs on the OSG.
- RadCon update
- Note: shielding is being added to the gap in the wall nearest to the dump by Tom's crew
- RadCon Checklists has a complete list of information that they are responsible for.
- All monitors are in this list, in particular all in the FSD, but not yet made it into the HCO system
- Pavel will monitor them and check that they are all operational
- Checklists
- Other business
- This is the last meeting in this series. The content will be transferred to other meetings as appropriate.
- Beni: Are the goals for accelerator to deliver "quality electron beam" to Hall D defined? Todd: Yes, there are goals to be met and submitted as work plans to ATLIS.
- Richard: Preparation for active collimator commissioning.
- Need to develop software visualization of data to understand the active collimator
- Hovanes: Trent and Alex have waveforms, as well as FFTs of the waveforms.
- Yi: Analysis of elements into ROOT for manipulation
- Data also include integrated waveforms over one second, which may be useful
- Alexandre: Can Richard come to JLab for the commissioning of the active collimator? At the moment, it seems this will happen either Thursday or Friday. Richard will investigate schedules.
