Action Items

  1. Implementation of TOF trigger into analysis (Simon and Ilya) Simon has implemented the TOF trigger into the simulation. He has added the capability to require a single hit from one plane from the command line. He can work with Ilya to check the performance of the trigger in a more realistic environment.
  2. Set time for future meetings.

Preliminary Agenda

  1. Previous CPP meeting: Jul 21, 2021
  2. Announcements
  3. Action Items
  4. Discussion: AI for Experimental Controls testing during CPP. See email from David
  5. MWPC Testing (Albert, Rory, Beni)
  6. hdgeant4 updates (Beni and Simon)
  7. GlueX Data Analysis
  8. CPP Simulations
  9. PID + AI
  10. Other business
  11. Next meeting

Minutes

Attending: Albert, Alex, Andrew, Beni, David, Elton, Ilya, Mark, Rory, Simon

  1. Previous CPP meeting: Jul 31, 2021
  2. Announcements
  3. Action Items
  4. Discussion: AI for Experimental Controls testing during CPP. See email from David
    • We will invite David to a future meeting where time is available for discussion of this topic.
  5. MWPC Testing (Beni)
    • System is working at a basic level. Triggers are being processed. Serguei has been able to see MWPC pulses in the data.
    • Still to check are whether the crate is configured to deliver 125 MHz (scintillator) and 250 MHz (MWPC) clocks to each half of the crate
    • Check that the look-back window collects full information from both scintillator and MWPC detectors. Current look-back is set to 500 ns (?)
    • Beni and Alex will meet tomorrow at 9:00 at the lab to investigate further.
  6. hdgeant4 updates (Elton)
    • Richard has implemented his new generator for e+e- pairs and also mu+mu- pairs.
    • At a very basic level, the generator is working. Elton checked that he can generate events with the new configuration.
    • There is some checking within MCWrapper (that will be removed) that does not currently allow the use of the 'BHmuons' option, but there is a work-around. Peter Pauli will implement a more permanent solution soon.
  7. GlueX Data Analysis
  8. CPP Simulations
  9. PID + AI (Andrew)
    • Andrew, Albert, Simon and Elton met to discuss how to provide Kishan the information he needs for the pi/mu PID work. The following information will be provided in a custom ROOT file:
      • track four vectors (ideally one positive, one negative)
      • associated shower information in the FCAL. This will include single block hits if not shower is reconstructed (the latter needs Simon's special branch)
      • projected track information to the FCAL and the MWPC plane 1.
      • all MWPC hits.
    • Andrew has developed some code that can produce the ROOT trees. Elton has the fcal_charged plugin that can access most of the needed information. Simon has provided snippets of code that can access other specific information.
    • Mark can work with Andrew to merge branches and code into a single program.
    • To start, Albert and Andrew will be using tracks generated with the particle gun. Albert has already produced a file with single pions and another with single muons.
  10. Other business
  11. Next meeting
    • Next Wed at 9:00 am. Rory will run the meeting.
