# Andrei showed the effect on clusters from simulations of a single 1200 MeV photon versus two photons with 650 and 550 MeV, respectively at 20 degrees.  The quantity shown is the energy deposited in the fibres, with plots corresponding to the 1:2:3:4 summing rows (top to bottom). Plots for 1000 MeV (600+400 Mev for the two photos) are also shown for 90 degrees.  The former set shows differences in the low energy region, the later at high.  It was agreed that 2D correlation plots will be examined to investigate these observations as a function of tmax (depth of shower maximum) and conversion (or not) in the first (single) layer.  We need to understand photons well before proceeding to neutrons and charged particles.

# Andrei inspected David's mcsmear code and no obvious issues were noticed. Some discussion took place on TRandom3 and other random generators.  Andrei reported discrepancies between the ROOT manuals and what the routines do: e.g. PoissonD is described as continuous in the manual but is discrete in its execution.  David and Andrei will investigate this offline.

  1. Will gave an update on his work. Implementing David's code has broken the reconstruction code and he and David are working to resolve this. One thing to check is whether unit conversions (to GeV) may be causing some issues. Will does not think they are.
  2. Andrei showed the effect on clusters from simulations of a single 1200 MeV photon versus two photons with 650 and 550 MeV, respectively at 20 degrees.
  3. Andrei inspected David's mcsmear code and no obvious issues were noticed. Some discussion took place on TRandom3 and other random generators. Andrei reported discrepancies between the ROOT manuals and what the routines do: e.g. PoissonD is described as continuous in the manual but is discrete in its execution. David and Andrei will investigate this offline.
