## Andrei+Irina: 1200 MeV/20 deg photons simulated, spatial distribuiton of Edep in fibers shows shift of z-coordinate most prominently in outer layers. No B-field, 5k events, homogenous, isotropic calorimeter was simulated.  The outer distribution is actually a circle and not an oval as it appears, when noting the y and x scales.  This outer distribution corresponds to low E density (Edens). The black ring corresponds to the inner 6cm of the calorimeter.  The effect is not due to X0.  "Wave on lake analogy by Dave: at the impact point much disturbance but circular wavefronts further out".  The deviation angle is a function of Edens.  Clearly our cluster strategy has to implement separate branches for the low and high Edens, which can be perhaps achieved via a suitable parametrization.  The IU code can be adapted to this strategy by considering looser theta cuts for the outer readout layers.

## Will: IU code uses tighter cuts if the energy is high.  Slide 2 shows a 40% effect. On sl. 3 KLOE has fewer extra clusters (10% effect)  Splash-back from magnet?  FDC frames also visible.  There is something wrong in the IU code.  Sl. 6 pi0 clustering.  White box in bottom corner is Will's modification of the DeltaPhi, DeltaZ cuts to force of clusters to join when they are that close.  The previous setting in the IU code was unreaasonable. Question: does this affect the Eres in any significant way?

  1. Action Items: no changes
  2. Talk: a single 30 min talk will be given by Will. Will will circulate an outline by May 29, and Andrei will send slides to fill by the end of that week. The talk will be in the Calorimetry Session on Tuesday June 4.
  1. Updates:
    1. Andrei+Irina: 1200 MeV/20 deg photons simulated, spatial distribuiton of Edep in fibers shows shift of z-coordinate most prominently in outer layers.
    2. Will: IU code uses tighter cuts if the energy is high.
