Minutes

Attendees: David L., Beni Z. (JLab) , Will L. (CMU), George Vassileiadis (Athens), Giovanni Alcocer, Zisis P. (Regina)

  1. Announcements: Zisis introduced Giovanni Alcocer, new PhD student at Regina on GlueX. Giovanni will work closely with George Vasileiadis in Athens on reconstruction simulations.
  2. Action Items:
    1. FPGA is a perennial item.
    2. Defer the curvature until Andrei returns from holidays.
  3. Updates
    1. Slides Paul M. noticed that the daily/weekly builds that run b1pi events were very slow due to the kinematic fitter trying to fit too the extra showers. Will investigated reducing "junk" showers based on specific criteria, which may need to be refined later, including the recovery of e-m splitoffs. This effort took the good showers from 25% up to 60% by cutting good events only down to 91% in contrast to a much larger cut on the bad events. Future work would also involve making 2D correlation plots of his variables, to see if graphical cuts can do even better.
  4. Discuss and prioritize the Reconstruction Issues and prepare for Collaboration Meeting:
    1. October 2013 Meeting Will L. will deliver the reconstruction talk. 20 min has been allotted for this.
  5. Any other business: It was decided to cancel our Oct.1 meeting as this is the day before the Collaboration Meeting.
