  1. Announcements: two items from yesterday's Hall D Biweekly meeting: a) power outage at the lab next week and b) magnet review will take place either in early July or early August.
  2. Action Items: Will M. will work on the clusterizer etc. and will undertake the correction of the coordinates systems (Action Item 1 above), in collaboration with Tegan and Ahmed.
  3. Commissioning Status Quo
    1. Effective speed (George): Previously George reported that using the 2nd method for z-point vs z-track for points inside the BCAL biases the results, so he returned to the 1st method using 4 points (middle of each layer) to get z-track. Using comics data with no magnetic field, as this data is clean. Question: use of Tgraph in extracting error results in a large χ2 which affects the error (error multiplied by the square root of χ2). Sean suggested that George contact Eric Pooser who faced a similar issue, and ended using Minuit. Next, values of BCAL radii were discussed. David recommended that George comment out m_radius (array, 10 values) as they are obsolete, and see if code compilation is affected before removing them completely. David and Zisis had gone over the BCAL dimensions a couple of years ago, and what is in HDDS is correct. George promised plots for next week, which he expects will have a spread 16-18 cm/ns.
    2. Time-walk corrections (Noemi): some trouble in retrieving files from the work folder on the ifarm machines. David has sent tips and Zisis will work with Noemi to resolve this.
    3. Cosmics: Elton mentioned that more comics runs have been acquired and that someone should look at them when possible.
    4. David described the issue seen in the FCAL and reported yesterday at the HallD Biweekly. Multiple pulses are identified by seeing multiple pulse integrals come out, but only the 1st hit is processed correctly in some cases, whereas in others the 2nd one. David has sent this issue to Ed Jastrzembski for debugging and suggested that a limit is placed on how many times the error is printed out on a given job. David will contact Adesh and Manual to see if they can work on it.
  4. Simulations
    1. BCAL Geometry (discussed under Action Item 1).
    2. Andrei reported that he and Irina are working on implementing thee CRY comics simulator, to output comics events with the proper angle and momentum distributions, in order to be able to analyze comics runs with the magnetic field on. Andrei asked who has worked with CRY (there was a reference on our Wiki) and Sean thought it might have been Mike Staib.
  5. Any other business
    1. DC3 and commissioning simulations were discussed. Our working group endorses Tegan's single-energy code to be included for both efforts and that these efforts wait until June 24 (allowing timing for Mar and/or Tegan to do final verifications). Sean said that the commissioning runs are 5-6k jobs, that usually complete in 48-72 hours, and so can be re-run if necessary. Tegan's code, while not entirely checked out yet is still a better option as the old code is wrong and slows down the simulations and therefore will impact the reconstruction as well as the conclusions on speed of jobs, etc. Curtis asked if Tegan has made large changes in Geant3 that would need to be carried over to Geant4 and the answer was that any changes are small and ease to port over.
    2. Elton asked if Zisis can run next week's Calorimetry meeting. Zisis will be at the CAP Congress and will check his schedule to see if this is possible. If not, the meeting will be cancelled.
