Prep for tagger design internal review at JLab

The date for the internal tagger magnet review is set for May 19 at Jefferson Lab. The charge is in draft form. Tim will distribute a copy of it within the working group shortly. There are 5 people who have agreed to serve on the review panel, 3 engineers and 2 physicists, all with extensive experience designing and building magnets. The sequence of talks is envisioned as follows.

  1. Overview - Eugene
  2. Requirements and specifications - Jim
  3. Design - Tim
  4. ME simulations - Bill
  5. Schedule - Jim
  6. Installation - Jim

There are still some drawings to be completed and some simulations that still have to be finished in preparation for the review. Other members of the working group are asked to review the updated specifications document.

Agenda for beamline section of collaboration meeting

Update on the spring 2009 CHESS run

  1. A bracket for mounting the diamond samples in the CHESS beamline has been designed. At this point, no alternative mounting techniques will be attempted - the bracket clamps thin wires for traditional suspension diamond suspension.
  2. We just received some thin tungsten wire from Yves.
  3. The remaining open question is the choice of glue for mounting the diamond on the wires. The is still some suspicion that previously used compounds deformed the thin diamond samples.
