The fits are not great but all err in the same direction.  By eye I would have picked the MPVs for the histograms below at 5.5 and 3.5 x10^3 giving a ratio of 1.6 for the 50 sample integration, tracked ~vertical hits.

The fits are not great but all err in the same direction.  Calculated MPV errors are < 1%.  By eye I would have picked the MPVs for the histograms below (45 degrees and flat, ~vertical tracked hits, 50 samples integrated) at 5.5 and 3.4 x10^3 giving a ratio of 1.6.  The calculated ratio of fit MPVs was 1.64 and histogram means was 1.60.  Geometrically it should be 1.45 (the pink line) as the scintillator widths allow tracks up to 15 deg each side of vertical.

Scintillators above and below prototype, 49cm apart. Scintillator width is 13cm. Prototype placed on lower scintillator with straws at 90 degrees to long axis of scintillators.

Hits in straw 17
Ratios of integrated signal with prototype tilted and flat
Prototype horizontal
Prototype at 30 degrees to horizontal
Prototype at 45 degrees to horizontal
Tracked hits in straw 17

The fits are not great but all err in the same direction. Calculated MPV errors are < 1%. By eye I would have picked the MPVs for the histograms below (45 degrees and flat, ~vertical tracked hits, 50 samples integrated) at 5.5 and 3.4 x10^3 giving a ratio of 1.6. The calculated ratio of fit MPVs was 1.64 and histogram means was 1.60. Geometrically it should be 1.45 (the pink line) as the scintillator widths allow tracks up to 15 deg each side of vertical.
