CDC travel plans

Overview

1. Load up at CMU - looking at Oct 28-30 or Nov 4-6
2. Ideally, store truck indoors overnight
3. Drive to JLab
   1. Arrival before ?pm - go to EEL to unload
   2. Arrival after ? pm - go to Hall D, drive in, CDC in truck overnight, drive to EEL the next day and unload

Preparations

1. Shopping list below
2. Add reinforcements to CDC cart for forklift
   1. Calculate position of CDC's CM - Naomi - approx 20" from Al plate, will revise
3. Swap straight wheels for swivel wheels
4. Find filters to cap CDC gas tubes
5. Wrap CDC in bubblewrap
6. Cut dual-density foam to size
7. Locate mooring snubbers
8. Rent a truck
   1. Need to measure temp near CDC - use long thermocouple
9. Update packing list - extra things to bring (HVBs, manifold etc) installation doc with packing list
10. Book accommodation at resfac
11. Find somewhere to keep truck indoors overnight at CMU - Naomi
12. Negotiate loading bay access - Curtis
13. Arrange time with fork lift driver - Gary

Equipment for readout

1. 4 long scint paddles are to travel down from CMU
2. Do we need to bring any NIM modules?

Longer term plans - after arrival at JLab

1. CDC is to be stored in EEL 126? until FDC installation is complete
2. HV blocks need to be added
3. CDC mini-readout in EEL can be set up once FDC has moved into Hall D
4. Expect CDC installation to be in Jan 2014 (engineering) or Dec 2013 (electronics) schedules are linked to installation meeting Sept 27

5. Filters for gas lines
