Hall B and Detector Geometry

Below we describe some useful information concerning the geometry of Hall B and our detector setup. The geometry of Hall B based on engineering drawings was given to us by Richard Jones at UConn.

Approximate Figure

Below is an approximate figure of the tagger alcove and our setup. The trajectories are the ideal trajectories calculated simply from the magnet geometry, and the detector setup is approximate. For more accurate placement of the detector, the table below should be used. This figure is just to get an idea of how things should look (click to enlarge). The blue dashed line in the lower figure shows the lower edge of the cable tray. The alcove ledge is at a z coordinate of 6.45721[m], and the alcove floor is at 1.85962[m] above the floor.
