Assume that voltage control boards are designed to trip above certain value of drawn current. Some detectors/applications will require more protection from powering the electronics in unwanted situations.

CAEN

  • CAEN boards can be shutoff using a TTL signal delivered to the boards
  • CAEN boards can be shutoff by removing 50 Ohm termination

MPOD

  • MPOD chassis can be shut off by delivering 5V to a pin of the DB9 connector on the controller
  • MPOD chassis can be shut off by removing a 5V from a pin of the DB9 connector on the controller
  • MPOD boards can be shutoff by removing current from the loop.

FCAL

  • Mostly known, PLC protection system exists with shutdown
  • EPICS fast shutdown will also be implemented if PLC heartbeat disappears

BCAL

  • Fast shutoff from GUIs?
  • Automatic shutoff from PLC or EPICS (temperature, humidity)?

FDC, CDC

  • Fast shutoff from GUIs?
  • Automatic shutoff from PLC or EPICS (temperature, network outage etc) ?

ST, PS

  • Fast shutoff from GUIs?
  • Automatic shutoff from PLC or EPICS?

TOF, PSC

  • Nothing is needed?

Tagger uScope and hodoscope

  • Fast shutdown of uScope if temperature is out of range ?
  • Hodoscope does not need any protection beside current trips?
