Minutes

Attending: Tim, John, Elton, David, Yi, Beni (JLab); George, Pavols, Christine (Athens); Zisis, George (UofR); Hayk, Will, Orlando, Javiera (USM).

  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. Collaboration Meeting
    1. Friday at 2:30pm, 4 30 minute talks.
  4. Monitoring.
    • PC boards shipped to Geneva, before transferring to Athens. Should be populated in a couple of weeks.
    • George is preparing a test setup
    • The invoice from Athens has been signed, but the CERN account has changed and this has been corrected. We hope it will not have an impact on payment schedule.
  5. FCAL
    1. Updates will be presented at the collaboration meeting
  6. BCAL
    1. BCAL Beam Tests 2012
      • Elton presented the beam test request to Hall B yesterday.
      • We have been instructed to work with Eugene Pasyuk and Doug Tilles to install equipment.
      • Elton, John, Tom and Josh went down to the hall this morning to plan where to locate the mini-Bcal ectype and how to place it there.
      • The beam test will be presented at the collaboration meeting.
  7. USM update
    1. Run manager report (Javiera)
      • Second shipment of SiPMs boxes has arrived.
      • The pulse shapes of 210 MPPCs have been tested in the stage 2 setup. Plan to test all units
      • The PDE of 40 MPPCs has been measured. This completes the 10% fraction to be tested for the first shipment.
    2. Light guides
      • There were some delays in shipping. Expect to ship the first article today.
    3. Update on Station 3 (Hayk)
      • Fixing last problems in stage 3.
      • Using Si pads to ensure good thermal contact between SiPMs and cooling plate
      • Presented data before and after fixes. The new protocol uses less incident light to enhance the pedestal peak and takes more data to ensure adequate statistics at each point.
      • About 28 (of 32) channels are operational. Most problems are identified and the goal is to have them operational, but production can commence with a few missing channels.
      • Some condensation was discovered in the test setup. The AC system settings were adjusted to improve dehumidification.
      • This should have fixed the humidity problems, but will cool down today and verify it has no impact on operations at the lower temperature settings.
  1. TDR update
    1. Instructions for the TDR (You must be logged into the wiki to access this page).
    2. We need to start revising Chapter 4 Detector, Section 4.3 Calorimetry. See above for old and new proposed outlines.
  2. Simulations/Reconstruction
  3. Any other business
