  1. Announcements
  2. Review of Action Items
  3. BCAL Beam Tests 2012 - Check List
    1. Hall B (Elton)
      • Changing over to electron running
      • Italian group de-installing forward calorimeter prototype this week. Leaving a chiller in place. Elton will investigate if we can use it for the mini-Bcal.
    2. Mechanical (Tim)
      • Chuck is designing some brackets to mount onto the UofR frame to be able to position the Bcal in a transverse position (about 20deg to the beam)
      • Found that the mini-Bcal base plate is 1.5" instead of the 1.25" of the production modules. The attachment holes seemed to have been referenced to the bottom of the plate and therefore do not fit our fixtures. Modifications are under way to accommodate the mini-Bcal geometry.
    3. SiPM (Yi)
      • Two more preamplifier boards fabricated, the last one is being worked on. Next, the connection boards cables to V792 will be made.
      • Once all boards are installed, Carl will do a final check on light uniformity / optical calibration.
      • Yi has done some condensation tests and finds no condensation down to 5deg C. The room is warm and also very dry.
      • Will require about 1 day to test the 80 units needed for the beamtest
    4. LGs/Cooling (Elton, Fernando, Scott)
      • Light guides received in good condition. Gluing tests continue to finalize procedure.
    5. Monitoring (Christina)
      • Bcal LED boards should be ready in a couple of weeks. Working hard to get a second control board. Will wait on gluing light guides to revisit schedules next week.
      • There was some discussion regarding how to distribute the 40 LED boards on the mini-Bcal. Discussions will continue offline.
    6. Test full Mini Cal with cosmics?
    7. LV, HV, VXS, Flash ADC, F1TDC, Discriminators, NIM, Trigger (Sascha)
      • All electronics in hand except for discriminator boards (have one, need a second)
      • Range of Flash ADCs. Elton: should use the same range as expected for the final experiment (2 V max)
      • Sasha will add list to beamtest wiki page for ease of tracking.
    8. Online Coda/Analyzer (Sascha)
      • Will adapt software being used for Fcal beamtest
      • Start with raw pulse mode for Flashes and move to more complicated modes
    9. Data to disk/tape (Sasha)
      • The system is set up for the Fcal beamtest
    10. Logbook, e-log
    11. Run plan (Elton, Zisis)
      • A draft of priorities and run plan should be written down
      • Zisis and George will be here the beginning of April and Andrei will come after that
      • Elton and Zisis will work on a draft plan offline
    12. Simulations (Andrei, Irina)
    13. Manpower/shifts
  4. Update from USM
    1. Run manager report (Javiera)
      • Completing the measurements of pulse width and rise time for 400 MPPCs. Finding systematic variations of width and rise time for different cells.
      • Elton: Check version of the preamp. [Note added after talking to Fernando: All electronics for testing the SiPMs uses the original design used to test the first-article samples. This includes the USM board, as well as the JLab production setup in the EEL. Therefore, we can check the variations between cells in the EEL].
      • Zisis: Request for scope pictures at the next meeting.
      • Elton: What is the width of the light source?
      • Andrei: Suggest changing the electronics board to see if this is the source of the problem.
    2. Update on 5 degree data (Will)
    3. Discussion of dark current measurements and station 3 status (Hayk)
      • Yi: suggest to use longer gate to study dark rate. This will give more events and reduce gate edge effects
      • Yi: Request to see the raw histograms and fits used to extract the cross talk
    4. USM Web Interface to DB
    5. Light guide arrival
    6. Hall-D ELOG
