GlueX Collaboration Meeting

May 10, 11 and 12, 2010 at Jefferson Lab

The following template has been set up to allow people to identify what needs to be presented at the meeting. It has been roughly broken out by working group with suggestions for topics within each group. The working group chairs should work on adding the relevant talks with an estimated time (including questions) and the speaker's name. If there is a talk that does not fit into this template, please add it at the bottom.

Registration

Everyone participating in the collaboration meeting whether in person at JLab or remotely via electronic media are encouraged to register. Please visit the Registration Page.

To see who else will be attending either in person or via electronic media, please see the Current List of Participants Page

Location

CEBAF Center F326

The goal of this day-long workshop is to provide grad students an introduction to both meson spectroscopy and experimental techniques used in the GlueX experiment. Talks in general will be broad overview talks with plenty of time for discussion. The afternoon session is open for graduate students to share with each other aspects of the GlueX detector or particular physics topics that they are working on or are very familiar with.

  • 8:30 (120) Session I: Introduction to the GlueX detector and physics
    • 8:45 (15) --- Welcome
    • 9:00 (45) --- Meson Spectroscopy Overview: the role of GlueX in the global spectroscopy program -- Curtis Meyer
    • 9:45 (45) --- Theory Overview: what spectrum of states is predicted by QCD -- Jozef Dudek
    • 10:30 (30) --- Coffee/Discussion --- (buzz)
    • 11:00 (30) --- Overview of the GlueX Detector
    • 11:30 (45) --- Analysis: what we measure and how we measure it
