  1. PID Selections and Systematics Task Force

Minutes

Attendees: Mark I., Justin, Daniel, Naomi, Sean, Mahmoud, Beni, Mark D., Susan, Alex A., S.T.

  • Daniel continues to work on testing new ML algorithm on di-lepton data
  • Naomi reported on her continuing CDC dE/dx studies.
    • Finds good qualitative agreement between bggen and data
      • Strange bump in dEdx for tracks near 70 degrees shows up in both
      • Bumps and wiggles depend on number of tracks
    • Improved dE/dx (for amplitude) correction map (to get rid of θ dependence in data)
      • Corrected dE/dx shows better separation between proton and kaon bands at low momentum
      • Corrected dE/dx looks more like MC dE/dx
      • Correction map does not work as well for dE/dx using CDC integral
  • S.T. showed dependence of dE/dx on number of hits used in calculation and momentum
    • Naomi's correction was not applied yet
    • Same general shape for all momenta except for low N in CDC
  • Mahmoud continues comparing timing for MC/data using η→γγ
    • MC resolution does not depend on p, but real data does
    • MC resolution is worse than real data resolution
    • Means for both data and MC depend on p
