Eric went to the Hall yesterday to go through the Hot Checkout List. He and Nick Sandoval found 3 dead channels. On the scope there is a large DC offset on them; it looks like a loose connection between the ST-1 and ST-2 boards. Also Eric could not see output on the FADC scalers. He thought this might be related to changes in the ST crate to add the TRD (spare FDC package) read-out to the crate (some F125s). The signals look good at the front panel of the FADCs.

Run Readiness

Eric went to the Hall yesterday to go through the Hot Checkout List. He and Nick Sandoval found 3 dead channels. On the scope there is a large DC offset on them; it looks like a loose connection between the ST-1 and ST-2 boards. Also Eric could not see output on the FADC scalers. He thought this might be related to changes in the ST crate to add the TRD (spare FDC package) read-out to the crate (some F125s). The signals look good at the front panel of the FADCs.

This morning at the Run Planning meeting it was announced we will not pull back the start-counter/target cart to fix the dead channels.

Eric will try soon to read-out the start counter via the DAQ in any case. The start counter remains un-checked in Hot Checkout.

Calibration

Mahmoud is going through Eric's code to do the light propagation delay calibration. He sees clear separation of times when referenced to the RF signal, both for the time-of-flight and the start counter. This is work-in-progress.
