Minutes

Present:

  • FIU: Werner Boeglin, Lei Guo, Puneet Khetarpal, Eric Pooser
  • JLab: Chuck Hutton, Mark Ito (chair), Sascha Somov, Beni Zihlmann

Construction News

The three counters from McNeal arrived two weeks ago. The package was visibly crushed on the outside and one of the counters was in pieces. The other two had scratches on the surface. FIU is trying to recover the cost from the shipper.

Testing will proceed with the two scratched counters. Scratches on the surface have not necessarily degraded performance in the past and other that the counters look good, with well-polished edges.

FIU is updating the test stand to enable reproducible testing of multiple counters as they arrive. They plan to do test with sources and with cosmics.

Eric did not receive the model of the counter from Chuck. Chuck will re-send.

Read-Out

The ST2 board at FIU is damaged. The lemo connector on the PCB is broken. Mark will ask Fernando Barbosa to give Eric a call to provide guidance on re-soldering.

Sascha reported that the SiPMs for the start counter are due in the middle of November. FIU is interested in getting a read-out board with all three channels populated (12 SiPMs).

Contract

Werner sent a version of the SOW to Mark wihich include a timeline for construction.

Mark has started writing the sole-source justification.
