  • SICCAS update: 160 crystals (60 for Hall C) are packed ready to be shipped, tentatively on Friday 3/6.
    • On schedule to finish remaining 400 (of 500) in April, should receive at JLab by summer?
    • Need new contract for next set of 500 crystals
      • Needs DOE approval, could take awhile
      • Working out an agreement between Wuhan and SICCAS folks for crystal qa.
      • Specs stay the same, hopefully price per crystal will also stay the same.
  • Light guide design has changed slightly: plan to go with machined 18.5 mm diameter rods
    • Increases price by a factor of 2, still okay with Eugene
    • Quote from Eljen is quite high, and don't have specs for material from Chinese supplier of original 18 mm diameter rods.
  • Flanges on order
  • Mu-metal cylinders: PR submitted
  • Have 24 PMT (soft iron) housing pieces, not annealed yet.
  • Most other pieces (except for the crystals themselves!) here ready for assembly. Plan to start with 30 crystals from CUA.
  • Summer students.
    • PHil C. will station a student at JLab for 8 weeks in the summer
    • Karthik from Regina will be here for 3 weeks in March-April
    • Liping recruiting students right now, 3-4 for summer?
  • PMT base divider tests: 14 of 3x amplification variety already installed in COMCAL, 14 of the 6x variety awaiting 4-5 hours of downtime in the Hall
    • Plan to use COMCAL as TAC, also read out during regular data taking
      • Need gain calibration -- snake scan
    • Plan to do rate tests, linearity studies.
  • Loan agreement with UNCW is signed: Tim B. has PMT/divider
    • working on a longer term plan.
