# Announcements: Physics division called an all-hands meeting at 9:30am today to explain the process for determining the 46 layoffs (8 in physics) completed yesterday and restructuring of staff assignments and groups. Halls A+C are being merged under a single Hall Manager, and the detector groups of Halls B and D are being combined. One of the lab's highest priorities remains the turn on with beam of Halls A and D.

# Action Items: item 1 is pending, the BCAL is done for item 2 and FCAL input is coming as well.

# Monitoring: our working group welcomed the Athens group back, after their university's 4-month strike.

# Discussion on raw data format for flash 250 MHz: there was a meeting last week on this topic and there was general agreement to produce a draft document on the data format by March 1.  The FPGA programming by an engineer will be done this fall and prior to production (physics) runs in 2015. The specs will be defined on the 250 and then ported over to the 125 flash. Objective is to have an event-by-event pedestal subtraction to improve the resolution, with one word for the time, one for the pulse integral and a third for the pedestal.

# Summary Document [https://halldweb.jlab.org/doc-private/DocDB/ShowDocument?docid=2376 GlueX-doc-2376]: Elton was working towards version 1 of this document this week.  It will be a controlled document that needs to be signed off by Eugene or Elton.  Input for the FCAl is needed from John/Matt.

# FCAL: Work has been mainly to get the DAQ going which has been successful so far.  Own version of code and configurations is being developed, with channel and crate assignments.  Initial effort is on the internal clock looking at pedestals.  The FCAL trigger work will probably come along in 2 months.  1/4 of the bases have been programmed over the CAN bus. Final checks are being done on the outside of the dark room before making the final connections inside.

# BCAL: Cabling is done on the SiPMs but is not finished for the monitoring system yet as there is no power to that crate and it will take sometime before we have it. N2 system is ok.  Cooling is done up to the manifold but not yet form the manifold to the chiller.  BCAL power is installed but more work is needed on the grounding cables before the engineers can check off this system.  It is expected that we will be in place to start checking individual signals in 1-2 weeks.  This may be affected by the lab restructuring.  Orlando Soto from USM is at the lab for 6 months to work on controls for the SiPMs and monitoring system.  Alam Toro completed the distribution boxes before returning to USM.

# Reconstruction and Simulation: no progress, first meeting of 2014 is on January 23.
 +
# TDR update: Eugene urged everyone to contribute to the TDR.
 +
# Calibration: We have made a good start on the BCAL tables for configuration and calibration. We need to identify what is needed for the reconstruction.  Goal is to test the calibration with simulated data or perhaps real showers that have been parametrized.  FCAL is in a more mature phase than the BCAL.  We need to identify the persons who will work on these.
