Minutes

Attendees: George, Elton, Dave (JLab); Matt (IU); Christina (Athens); Serguei, Will (USM).

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Monitoring (Christina)
    • Work continues on monitoring NIM paper. Daily discussions with Zisis. New comments to latest version
    • Elton: Has read latest version; will send comments later today
    • Matt: Promised to read through the latest draft
  4. FCAL
    • Dark room assembled.
    • Cutting of platform for cable routing is complete
    • Racks have been delivered to the hall and ready for cable routing
    • Zach and Shaun (IU) will help with the cabling starting this afternoon
    • First labyrinth on floor has been installed. Parts for second floor labyrinth is under fabrication at IU shop. (A second pair of labyrinths go on top of the dark room)
    • Once the cables are laid, the second labyrinth needs to be built on top.
    • Zach is working on environmental control system (light, humidity and temperature), which needs to be assembled and checked out.
    • The system will then be interfaced to door locks and pmt HV.
    • Plexiglass drawings have been completed by Chuck and sent out for bids. John F. is completing model including clamps for plexiglass and will be transferred and filed at JLab.
  5. Helium protection
    • Serguei suggested that the FCAL be protected (covered) someway during the upcoming solenoid tests.
    • A simple covering sounded like a good idea. Elton will coordinate with John Leckey.
    • Matt noted that during routine operation the dark room is under positive pressure and provides some protection to the pmts. Plan to move the air intake down away from expected magnet helium discharge.

Could try to find a clean air supply, but does not seem necessary

    • John L. will remove some pmts from array and check performance since the solenoid quench.
  1. BCAL
    1. Production (Elton)
      • Module 48 is being glued today
      • Replacement light guides (65) arrived from USM on Friday
      • These completed sufficient sets to complete 48 modules.
      • List of 24 non-conforming guides required to finish the extra 49th modules
    2. Christina: Transmission measurements?
      • Shaun and Zach (and George) have taken more measurements on module 47 as well as several other modules
      • Shaun is plotting data, should be available next week
    3. Light guides (Serguei)
      • Replacement list was in process when sensor broke on CNC machine.
      • Discussions with manufacturer to fix problem; schedule unclear
      • Today is a holiday in Chile
      • Serguei is giving feedback to a draft on the MPPC NIM paper. Will circulate draft after a couple of iterations
  2. Reconstruction and Simulation
  3. TDR update
  4. Calibration of Calorimeters
  5. Any other business
