  1. FDC Update
    • The FDC packages are on the cart; they will be moved from Blue Crab to the EEL building by mid-Aug.
  2. CDC Update
    • We are now reading out data from all 3 new fadcs - data look fine, tracks aplenty.
  3. Data Formats
    1. fADC125 Data Format Document
      • We decided to reinstate data type 4 (window raw data) for reading out pedestal data in the absence of a hit, and to use this instead of type 6, pulse raw data. This leaves us with data types 4 (window raw data), 7 (pulse data) and 8 (combined - pulse data followed by raw data). Window raw data would be used for configuration; pulse data would be the usual hit event readout; the combined format would facilitate algorithm development and monitoring.
      • In pulse data format, the slot will be moved back next to the QF, so that expansion of the QF will be easier if a compelling reason arises for it at a later date.
      • David has already updated and redistributed the document.
    2. FDC algorithm
      • The integration requirements for the 2 detectors are not identical - the CDC has pulses which can start at any time during a window of ~ 1us but all end at the same time, whereas the FDC pulses can start at any time during a shorter window, and are much shorter in duration. There are benefits to having one firmware package which would be used for both FDC and CDC; this would be most useful with software settings to specify that a certain process should be used for the FDC and another for the CDC.
    3. CDC algorithm
      • Beni is going to implement Naomi's timing algorithm for the FDC to see how it performs.
      • Cody will experiment with upsampling to get an idea of whether it will be possible to upsample all the data continually or a smaller region, eg 20 samples surrounding a threshold crossing point.
