# Announcements:
 +
#* Beam if off today; beam studies.
 +
#* End of run on Monday March 20.  Long shutdown for FCAL2.
 +
#* BCAL LED end of run (for Dark Rate study): plans to work on that analysis (with neutron flux) and possibly combine with Start Counter effects (Beni) towards a paper. (Look at recovery/annealing, etc.)
 +
# Past Meeting Minutes: briefly reviewed those; items discussed below.
 +
# Review Action Items: will review next month to plan our work during the shutdown.
 +
# Run Operations
 +
## FCAL/FCAL2: base replacement ate staying low; lockup rate is high, but the alarms notify the shift takes and this is dealt with on a ~2hr time frame.  Additional LED pulsing will be done with the blue LEDs at their highest voltage to contribute to Igal's gain study (pi0 and LED study).
 +
## BCAL
 +
# Calibration
 +
## BCAL: Stjepan - PrimEx 2022 gain calibration will start soon, most likely starting from the 2021 SRC carbon target gain ratios.  Sean reported on a SciComp permissions change on cache that blocked skimmed files going there.  Jobs are bring rerun but it will take a few weeks to finish them.
 +
# Monitoring
 +
## BCAL: Varun- LED monitoring Update. Modules 42,43 look normal so far after the ISEG module changing incident see [https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4149694 elog 4149694]. 109 LEDs are fluctuating.  There is a trend on the DS SiPMs (flashed by both U and D LEDs), as seen after the gap in data. (Gap is due to HOSS failure; Sean is rerunning scripts that make 30 skimmed files, that should be roughly ~12 min of data, capturing the BCAL 2 min full cycle scan.)
 +
# Reconstruction: no report.
 +
# Simulations: no report.
 +
# Any other business
 +
## Mini BCAL beam test update: Zisis reported (see [https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4144727 Log entry].  Sasha reported that the SciGlass group might be done after an additional 10 min run, and then it can be moved out of the way of the Mini BCAL.  Our priority is to run the agile configurations (45 and 30 deg, and 60 if time permits), with the unshadowed spectrum (once SciGlass is removed). Second priority is to repeat a voltage scan (at normal incidence and at an extreme angle). Sasha and Vlad are helping manage these through Rapid Access.
 +
## Sasha reported that a technical meeting on FCAL2 was held by Tim this morning.  No showstoppers.
 +
## During the shutdown we will change the CALWG meetings to monthly, starting April 12.  The focus will be calibrations and such, whereas FCAL2 technical discussions will take place in those dedicated meetings.

Revision as of 11:51, 15 March 2023

Goals for Calorimetry Group

  1. Determine preliminary photon reconstruction efficiencies as a function of E, phi and theta in data and simulation with a point-to-point precision of at least 5%.
  2. Measure systematics of pi0/eta mass calibration as a function of detector position to a precision of at least 5 MeV.
  3. Demonstrate agreement of photon resolution between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.
  4. Demonstrate agreement of photon reconstruction efficiency between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.
