Video Conferencing Information

Meeting Time: 11:00 a.m.

  1. To join via a Web Browser, go to the page [1] https://bluejeans.com/907185247.
  2. To join via Polycom room system go to the IP Address: 199.48.152.152 (bjn.vc) and enter the meeting ID: 907185247.
  3. To join via phone, use one of the following numbers and the Conference ID: 907185247.
    • US or Canada: +1 408 740 7256 or
    • US or Canada: +1 888 240 2560
  4. Upon connection all microphones are automatically muted. To unmute your mike on a Polycom or equivalent unit, enter *4. Unmuting on a computer is trivial as there is a microphone button than can be clicked.
  5. More information on connecting to bluejeans is available.

Participant Direct Lines

  • JLab Phone in CC L207 is 757-269-7084 (usual room)
  • JLab Phone: in CC F326 is 757-269-6460
  • Phone in the Regina Video-conference Suite is 306-585-4204
  • Athens Phone: in Christina's office is 011-30-210-727-6947

Action Items

  1. Check in the code, including scripts, that is used for recent calibrations into git (BCAL: Mark)
  2. Andrei's time calibration cod [Zisis and Elton need to suggest process for checking] Zisis will ask Ahmed to take over the timing from Andrei and gain calibrations with comics will be taken over by Tegan.
  3. Add Fcal dead channels into the MC. [Matt and Elton]
  4. Add monitoring plots for charged particle clusterizer [Will to suggest plots and collaborate with Mark]
  5. BCAL matching efficiency: We will need to work on two issues: a) why inclusion of correct material in BCAL affects the matching and b) why the matching efficiency decreased from about 85% when the charged clusterizer was included into the analysis.

Complete after new launch

  1. Report back on study of eta with in FCAL [Mark]
  2. From Mike's work: -cos(phi) type dependence in the data and a phi dependence at the downstream end of the bcal

Minutes

Attending: Elton, Mark, Colin (JLab); Zisis, Tegan, Ahmed (UofR); Christina, George (Athens); Will (CMU); Jon, Matt (IU)

  1. Announcements
    • Accelerator is on schedule to deliver beam by Dec 4, perhaps earlier.
  2. Action Items
  3. FCAL Update
    1. Run preparations (Colin)
      • Need to replace 19 bases. 29 bases are fixed; 14 are tested and stable under HV. 15 need testing.
      • Chris and Nick will replace bases next week
      • Need to set new HV based on updated gains. Can use Adesh's method, or retake data of response vs voltage using LED data and use new curves
      • Plan is to use Adesh's constants to start and retake data for comparison and use for new bases/bases.
    2. Other updates
      • Matt: Are pedestals taken automatically? Elton: Serguei usually does this at the beginning of the run.
      • Note: Mark takes care of TDC threshold settings for BCAL. We should add these to the checklist so it won't be forgotten.# BCAL update
    3. Run preparations
      • Tegan and Ahmed checked that all SiPMs were operational about a month ago.
      • Upstream chiller was running at a high pressure and was replaced with a spare. Need to check that it is behaving.
      • Elton powered up all channels this morning. Chillers are still set to 18 deg C.
    4. Other updates
  4. Calibrations
    1. Fcal: Colin asked about availability of pi0 files for 2016 at IU. May need to be staged before processing.
      • Updated timing algorithm using the energy weighted average is in place and ready.
      • Gain constants for 2017 low intensity have been sent to Sean. [2017 high intensity are already in ccdb]
    2. Exclusive pi0 calibration update
      • Will showed the gain calibrations after 38 iterations using the matrix inversion method. Pi0 width is comparable to that obtained by Will.
      • Comparison of constants shows that the new constants (blue and green) are in a tighter distribution than Will's (red). Will asked if the red points are for the latest calibrations as they seem too broad. Tegan will check.
      • Elton: It would be useful to show the y projection for each set of constants. Mark: Once the correct ccdb constants are obtained it would be interesting to show the difference compared to new ones (e.g. gain constant difference vs channel number, as well as projection).
  5. Reconstruction and Simulation
  6. NIM articles
    • Elton: Draft has incorporated all of Eugene's comments. Ahmed sent in the last figure updates yesterday. The new documents needs new careful read after so many changes. Plan to have a "final draft" available before Thanksgiving.
  7. Any other business
