Minutes

DAQ groups contribution

  • There was a meeting where they discussed who will work on the threes tasks specified by Elliott:
  • Farm management software - Carl
  • Simulation of raw data - Carl
  • Automated readout list - Bryan

Control's Test Stand

  • Test stand is in Room 126 in EEL building.
  • Currently includes a VME crate, CAEN SY1527 HV crate, AB 1756 chassis with a processor, 1734 chassis on a DIN-rail.
  • EPICS driver for VME/VXS crate control exists and working.
  • CAEN SY1527 EPICS driver in progress.
  • PLC firmware and software is being stalled.
  • The problem with DHCP and PXE booting for the new Linux-based VME CPUs has not been resolve. The CPUs boot on Bryan's and Sergey's networks, but they did not get DHCP offer (may be 1 out of 10) on 36 subnet. Hovanes and Sasha will be working with CF cards for now until the problem has been resolved. Bryan is helping with setting it up.

Server/Client on ROCs

  • Sasha is developing a software to quickly request information from ROCs based on ROOT classes. This will help him in development of the trigger software using FADCs.
  • The work is in progress, one of the goals is to specify what we need to specify to electronics group for the scalers on FADCs.

DANA/Event display communications

  • Andrew could not connect to JLab last couple of weeks due to the cyber event.
  • Event display is done except for 3D related itmes.
  • DANA-event display communication is complete.
  • Andrew can work on this project up until May.
  • The software is kept in CLAS12 SVN repository.
  • The geometry of the Event Display is defined in a file. The DANA reconstruction also uses another file to define geometry, so the geometry is taken from 3 different places.

Multi-crate trigger test

  • Bryan gets 20KHz steady rate currently limited by the amount of the data in the FADCs. It should be easy to reach 100KHz.
  • There are two crates with two FADCs in each. CTPs are programmed to use maximum 2 FADCs. The number of the FADC will be increased to ~16 sometime this week.

FDC tests with cosmics

  • Beni asked Chris to help him run more that five TDCs in a VXS crate.
