Collaboration Meeting

General agreement that the a single 90 minute session would suffice for electronics, trigger, DAQ, monitoring, and controls. Also, some time should be allocated for talks by electronics engineers. Elliott will update agenda with help from Fernando and Chris.

DAQ Presentations

  • Dave Abbott wants to submit abstracts on Hall D trigger and DAQ hardware and software to Real Time 2009 (Beijing, in May).
  • Everyone agreed that Dave would be the ideal person to present the results.
  • Abstract deadline is Feb 2009.
  • Current plan is to submit one plenary talk and a number of posters.
  • Dave will organize this and send out abstracts for review.

Online Milestones

  • Elliott presented milestones for 2008, written a long time ago.
  • In general, those concerning development of hardware or software components are on track, with a few delays.
  • Milestones concerning integration or system tests, however, have not in general been met.
  • Elliott will update these milestones, ensure they are agree with the P3E schedule, and suitably update the 2009 milestones.
  • 125 MHz FADC is late, but should be available this Spring.
  • F1TDC version 2 is due Sep 2009 (PED milestone).
  • PED funds run out 1-Oct-2009, and all PED work must be completed by then.
  • Discussion concerning whether current event displays satisfy PED milestone. Consensus is that they do, but a better one will be needed.
  • Elliott will pursue possible collaboration with CLAS12 (Dave Heddle) on event display.

Electronics

Chris gave an overview, and sent out minutes from the recent Electronics group meeting to everyone.

  • Lots of progress recently, some boards due back soon, lots of testing going on, including multi-crate FADC tests.
  • Firmware being updated in existing boards, FPGA speed tests being performed.
  • Tests at IU are going well (we sent them FADC boards and codaLite software).
  • Questions arose concerning the next version of the ASIC and the 125 MHz FADC.
