Minutes

Attendees: Mark, Matt, Igal, Varun, Malte, Sean, Tolga, Churamani, Eugene, Sasha, Jon, Zisis

  1. Announcements: none.
  2. Past Meeting Minutes: Zisis reviewed the minutes. Routine operations/actions for BCAL and FCAL.
  3. Review Action Items: Mark and Zisis met earlier to review the above 'Goalsfor Calorimetry Group' and action items and packages. Zisis will email questions to Sean and Matt in connection to these, and update the lists.
  4. Run Operations
    1. FCAL:
      1. Operations: Mark reported nominal operation; 1-2 bases will be replaced tomorrow.
      2. JEF installation update: FCAL base change history. Mark reported that there are frequent meetings to deal with the unstacking of FCAL and the stacking of FCAL-II with a specific plan for each FCAL block.
      3. FCAL hole over 2 GeV Igal reported that this was a timing issue and has been resolved.
      4. FCAL PMT power law behaviour: see studies by Igal [2] and Mark [3]. Mark mentioned that these are useful to project the gain at a new HV based on the current gain. The results are clustered roughly in two groups. The new PMTs have a stronger signal; this variable is not included in this analysis. Future project: vary both HV and LED independently (time consuming).
    2. BCAL: Mark and Zisis reported that operations are nominal.
    3. CCAL: Sasha reported that all is goof. No bad channels. CCAL is being calibrated for the different run periods. Possible tests in the spring using Fernando's modified divider base (active base with bypass amplifier); these 140 crystals will be used in FCAL-II.
  5. Calibration:
    1. PrimEx: Igal reported that he is working on PrimEX LED analysis to remove bad channels. He is using his own variation and will check the ccdb constants in when done.
    2. CPP: data allows calibration in 2-3 periods (beginning, middle, end). Large no of EVIO files needed to this end to get good enough statistics even when 'GlueX' trigger is used and a higher threshold.
  6. Monitoring
    1. BCAL LED Monitoring (online): Varun reported that all is nominal.
    2. BCAL (offline): Tolga is working on the particle gun. Sean suggested that he use the latest version of the software in MCWRAPPER.
    3. FCAL (offline): no report.
    4. CCAL (offline): no report.
  7. Reconstruction
    1. Churamani gave an update on the extracted BCAL efficiencies with eta-prime/tag and probe method. He is now using two methods and comparing them. The MC for Method 1 has low stats; the current running is using genetaregge but throwing the particles to both FCAL and BCAL. Jon will provide instructions on how generate events only within the BCAL's acceptance.
  8. Simulations: no report.
  9. Any other business: none.
