Minutes

Present:

  • Grenfell: Svetlana Barkanova
  • JLab: Alexander Austregesilo, Jose Goity, Mark Ito, Beni Zihlmann, Elton Smith
  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Theory update
    • Jose's Notes
    • Jose has found an analytic parameterization for Amplitude A. It describes the curve fairly well, but has many parameters that are fine tuned.
    • Mark: It might be easier to provide a spline description of the data, or even a table of numbers.
  4. Experiment update
  5. Presentation to Collaboration (Feb 14)
    • Rough DRAFT of Presentation to Collaboration Meeting (Elton)
      • Elton: The content of these slides comes from Mark's presentation at the collaboration meeting a year ago. We need to update it with more recent information. Draft slides will be made available before the collaboration meeting.
      • Jose: Comment on previous data: Relative errors of the cross section even near 1 GeV is not very good and should be improved.
      • Jose: Having better data below 1 GeV will be a very good motivator for theorists to improve calculations.
  6. Work list for the draft proposal to collaboration
    • Clarification to questions from the PAC where possible
    • Update to theory section
      • Jose will work on updating the theory section
    • Sensitivity of cross section to polarizabilities
      • Quantifying the sensitivity of the cross sections to the polarizabilities is a driving factor for the experiment and it would be good to get a value this month for the draft proposal.
    • Initial optimization of experiment
      • target position
      • take the CDC out?
    • Analysis of PRIMEX data
    • Assessment of nuclear coherent background
      • What is the t-dependence of the sigma (500)?
  7. NPP Mailing list? (Mark)
    • Mark has volunteered to make an NPP mailing list and include all the current email list. That will make it easier to send messages out to the whole group. Thanks, Mark!
  8. Other business
  9. Next meeting
    • Next meeting will be Friday Feb 21.
