Attending: Elton, Ilya, Rory, Beni, Mark

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Theory Update
  4. Calculations by Sergey Gevorkyan
    • Ilya uploaded a new version of Sergey's draft.
    • Sergey has added a new Section 4 on 2pi0 production by charge exchange from primary the pi+pi- production
    • References have been updated.
    • There are still some question marks in the text, which Ilya will review with Sergey,
    • Rory will read the updated document this weekend
    • Ilya will try to resolve questions with Sergey and produce a new draft that he and Elton can edit for clarity. The updated draft can then be made available for more feedback.
  5. Gevorkyan et al PRC 80 (2009) 055201
  6. Experiment Update
  7. CPP and NPP Readiness Review
  8. Simulation progress
    • Beni found a bug in hdgeant4that prevented hits from being generated. A pull request has been submitted to fix this problem.
    • The hdgeant4 geometry has eight MWPCs, a legacy from the proposal design. Beni will update the geometry xml files
    • Rory: How is the charge from the MWPCs generated in hdgeant4? Beni (After some discussion): Energies in the gas are calculated by hdgeant4 and summed into a cell energy if they fall within a time window of 400 ns. Otherwise multiple hits are generated. The simulated charge in the FADC125 channel is proportional to this energy. These "truth hits" are generated in hdgeant4; "measured hits" are generated by mcsmear. At the moment it simply copies the truth information into the FMhits.
    • The pitch of the wires is 0.4" = 1.016 cm.
