Misc. Tasks and questions

  • Look into the figue of merit of the experiment in the low energy, where the photon beam polarization is low. (To see if constructing an additional tagger is justified). (A. Deur)
  • How do we deal, target-wise, with solenoid ramp-down? (rare but possible. Note: Once the target is polarized, we do not need to run at high field. High field may still be needed if we run with the FDC).
  • Do we want a separate solenoid to polarize the target and perform spin flip?
    • Eugene does not feel conformable going above the current operating value of the solenoid (1.8T at the nominal target position, 2T max) and pushing the field would gain only 10%
    • Target RF equipment needs to have a frequency adapted to the field. 2.5T and 5T are good values (not 2T or 1.8T).
    • It seems a better option to have a secondary magnet for polarization and spin flip.
  • How well can we check beam charge asymmetry with BPMs?
  • Effect of a beam position-helicity correlation on the data. (M. Dalton)
