Thursday, November 10
Past 24 hours
- No beam for ~14 hours (5:15-19:30) due to beam tuning and cryomodule issues.
- Did harp scan when the beam was back during swing shift https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4079511. The sigmas of u and y positions at radiator were somewhat larger and lie outside the preferred range, monitoring PS rates.
- Took production data on Full LHe target. Since yesterday we collected 1.0 B events.
Shift Summary
Issues/Reports
- No beam for ~14 hours due to beam tuning issues, followed by issues with some of the cryomodules.
- After the beam was back it was mostly stable besides some FSD trips.
Plan
- Continue with Full target production.
- Accelerator maintenance scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday.
Friday, November 11
Past 24 hours
- Since the beam was not converging as desired we asked accelerator people to tune beam optics for Hall D. After beam tuning MCC did harp scan followed by our harp scans. The sigma u, sigma y and sigma x fits look like they are converging at collimator (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4080101), though sigma u, sigma y from radiator harp scan are still outside of the preferred range. The plan for now is to monitor PSC rates (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4080753).
- Took production data on Full LHe target. Since yesterday we collected 2.2 B events.
Shift Summary
Issues/Reports
- MCC took away the beam from 16:36-18:55 to correct steering issues for delivering 70 uA beam to Hall C.
- Beam energy distribution normalized to a previous run (110641) shows change in beam energy distribution (https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/4080603). If this is not a problem we just need to update the reference plot.

- Continue with Full target production.
- Accelerator maintenance scheduled for Tuesday ~6:45 am, duration at list a shift and half.
