Wednesday, April 6

  1. Accelerator Status
    1. No beam for day shift, possible at end of swing shift

    3. Hall-A will go to 4-pass beam today and use the 4th pass RF separator. They will try 5th pass separation again next week
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    1. Any need for controlled access?
    2. Target is warmed to 244K
    3. Beam intensity fluctuations ...
    4. Integrated luminosity -> thresholds for publishable results??
    5. other systems?
  3. Run Plan
    1. Re-establish good photon beam

Tuesday, April 5

  1. Accelerator Status
    1. No beam since 9am Monday due to re-tune
    2. Hot spot found in accelerator downstream of 5th pass separator (25R on contact, largest ever at CEBAF)
    3. Physics quality beam unlikely before Friday
    4. All shifts cancelled for today. Tomorrow (Wed.) on standby starting 8am
    5. Persons with shifts this week should send phone number to RC since more shifts will likely be moved to standby
    6. Hall-A will go to 2-pass beam then 4-pass beam (Hall-D is only capable of taking 5-pass beam)
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    1. Short access yesterday for walktrhough and FCAL maintainence
    2. Target warmed to >80K for at least 90 minutes to melt any potential Nitrogen ice. (It was emptied this morning due to cancelled shifts)
    3. Beam intensity fluctuations ...
    4. Integrated luminosity -> thresholds for publishable results??
    5. other systems?
  3. Run Plan
    1. Re-establish good photon beam
    2. FCAL test with 5mm collimator ~1hr (Adesh)
    3. PS magnet current studies ~2hr (Alex S.)
    4. TRD run ~1hr (Lubomir, Sergey)
    5. DAQ Studies ~1hr (Sergey, David)

Monday, April 4

  1. Accelerator Status
    1. No beam or poorly positioned beam until ~3:30am Sunday April 3
    2. Bleedthrough from Hall-A
    3. Accelerator experts convening this morning to form plan for fixing issues with beam. May be disruptive today or tomorrow morning as they implement plan
    4. Hall A gets priority Today
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    1. Completed empty target run with amorphous radiator
    2. Difficulty getting consistent PARA and PERP at same location on JD70-118. Switch to JD70-119.
    3. CDC HV trips frequently. Current trip levels had inadvertently been reduced to 2uA (fixed)
    4. beam intensity fluctuations
      • Hovanes suggests regular harp scans, including two ACC harps in D beamline, MCC must do those
      • Request accelerator formalize scan procedure for 5C11 and 5C11B. Todd will write something up
    5. other systems?
  3. Run Plan
    1. empty target run
    2. Satellite peak study (move beam)
    3. PS magnet current studies
    4. TRD run
    5. DAQ Studies
    6. Microscope alignment (Alex B.)
    7. Production running
  4. Offline analysis?
  5. AOB?

Sunday, April 3

  1. Accelerator Status
    1. Beam was gone until ~2am Saturday April 2
    2. Frequent RF trips, poor profile scans, poor enhancement
    3. Spotty or unacceptably poor beam from 13:00 Saturday to 3:30 Sunday (Issues with bleedthrough from other halls (?))
    4. Improved beam profile
    5. Hall A gets priority Monday
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    1. Completed empty target run with both PARA and PERP orientations
    2. Difficulty getting consistent PARA and PERP at same location on JD70-118. Switch to JD70-119.
    3. CDC HV trips frequently
    4. beam intensity fluctuations
    5. tagger harp scan shows sigma_x = 0.9 mm, sigma_y = 1.1 mm, possibly better focusing on collimator
      • Hovanes suggests regular harp scans, including two ACC harps in D beamline, MCC must do those
    6. Shift-takers run comments: Discussion deferred
    7. other systems?
  3. Run Plan
