  1. Several items were fixed during a controlled access in the morning
    • Amorphous radiator ladder by Hovanes and Scot
    • Colin replaced a few bad FCAL bases
    • Sasha checked one noising CompCal channel and found out that it was caused by the FADC baseline
  2. Sasha adjusted CCAL LED trigger time delay https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3635382
  3. Production trigger rate and CompCal rate study was performed by Sasha during afternoon and evening, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3635399, https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3635391
  4. MCC plan for the coming week
    • MCC will continuously deliver beam throughout the rest of week with 1.83 GeV/pass (10.3 GeV for Hall D).
    • On Dec 9 (Monday), the beam will be off at 6:00am. MCC will change energy to 1.61 GeV/pass (9 GeV for hall D). This process is planned for three days (DeC 9-12).
  5. Jay Benesch has initiated a discussion with a group of experts to investigate the feasibility of monitoring 1-2 nA beam current for Hall D.
  6. Tagger scaler distribution shows that we have beam leakage from Hall C. https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3635351
  7. We have been taking Compton production data on LH2 target since midnight.

  1. Several items were fixed during a controlled access in the morning
    • Change electronics for DAQ by Sasha
    • Calibrate He level DP for solenoid magnet by Marc and Scott
  2. A few hours used to test newly updated DAQ by Sasha and Ben
  3. ~5 hours no beam from late afternoon to evening
  4. Colin and Josh adjusted FCAL high voltages for the inner four layers of counters based on the gain factors provided by Ilya.
  5. Analyzed data took the day before to study CompCal gain stability at different beam current up to 350nA on LH2. It looks stable for the counters close to beam hole.
  6. Found about 7 counters have non-lineraty vs energy (up to 8%). The rest of counters are linear.
  7. Started CompCal scan during owl shift with both LED trigger and CompCal trigger. TAC in data stream. DAQ in raw mode.
  8. Plan for today and weekkend:
    • Finish CompCal performance study and take data on LH2 target and empty target data

Monday, Dec 10 at 8:45

  1. CompCal Calibration and performance study were completed at 11:30pm on Sat.
    • Snake scan in raw mode
    • energy and position resolution study
    • Quick scan with TAC and CCAL triggers to study CompCal energy leakage and inefficiency in production mode
  2. Compton production data collection on LH2 target with 150nA current started at 12:00am and ended at 3:37pm on Sunday. A total of 752M events are collected.
  3. Started to empty the target cell at 3:38pm on Sunday. Took empty target data with 300nA current until 6:am on Monday. A total of 201.5M events are collected
  4. Issues:
    • DAQ crashed several times
    • DAQ error message for setting up random factor
    • Online monitoring histograms are not updated on Sunday. it is working now.
  5. Be target installation is postponed in order to make sure that we have good quality LH2 data
  6. Plan for today:
    • Remove vacuum pipe in front of CompCal
    • Survey CompCal in beam position
    • Install electronics for alpha source trigger.
  7. MCC energy change process started this morning at 6:00am and is scheduled for three days. The beam may come back earlier than originally plan, according to PD.
