Wednesday, Dec 11 at 08:45

  1. Last 24h:
  2. Issues
  3. Reports
  4. Plan for Wednesday
    • DIRC/GEM data
    • Start diamond alignment
    • DIRC commissioning
  5. Plan for later
  6. Notes from this meeting

Tuesday, Dec 10 at 08:45

  1. Last 24h:
    • No beam.
    • First leak fixed, second possible leak found. We are not expecting beam back before Tuesday swing shift. Right now, day shift is on standby. Swing and owl shifts are still on.
    • Multiple fixes during access - FCAL, CDC, PS magnet etc
  2. Issues
  3. Reports
    • New safety rules for electrical work, red and white tape & 2 people for open connections, etc.
    • PS magnet
  4. Plan for today
    • Call PD at noon & decide on swing / owl shift status with news from MCC
    • Cryo group to test the solenoid refrigerator repair early morning.
    • Sasha checking FCAL fix this morning.
    • Colin will test when Sasha has finished
    • Sergei needs to check the DAQ this pm - needs 2h.
    • Justin/Bill would like DIRC LED data when testing is done
    • When beam is back, fill target & do harp scans.
    • Hovanes could start diamond alignment to see if software is fixed if we get beam before 7pm
    • DIRC + GEM whenever Hovanes finishes (or if he doesn't start) - call Justin. Also need Sergei
    • Return to regular DIRC commissioning overnight when Justin gives the ok.
  5. Plan for later
  6. Notes from this meeting
    • BCAL fadc problem can't set dac level. TOF has same problem but not so critical for TOF.
    • Sasha thinks fcal1 crate is fixed but needs to check it. Many problems with it.

Monday, Dec 9 at 08:45

  1. Since Friday morning:
    • Morning data-taking was curtailed by a radiation level problem which prevented MCC from delivering beam to any of the halls. We used this time for the many requested opportunistic access requests - Colin (rebooting FCAL's PDU), Hovanes (ComCAL), Scot (PS magnet), Beni (TOF), Nick(?).
    • Solenoid started ramping at 7am, finished around 5pm
    • Richard resumed PS uscope threshold scan piecemeal whenever he could, running independently
    • Bill took some DIRC LED trigger data, also running independently
    • CDC and TOF HV scans completed.
    • Tagger microscope HV scan data collection completed
    • DIRC commissioning runs continued overnight
    • Data from run 70835 on (Saturday morning) includes the TagM in the readout
    • Hovanes found that he needs to update the diamond alignment software, so we continue taking DIRC data until he is ready to start the alignment. He might need to move the goniometer. He can test the software without beam.
    • Gluon 4 froze again - Sergei changed the video driver
    • Overall running has been pretty good, apart from persistent DAQ problems
    • Vacuum issue Monday morning ~0530
  2. Issues
  3. Plan for the weekend
    • Continue DIRC commissioning
    • (Hall C is coming online, our running will probably be less stable while this happens. They're not going to 5 pass until Monday morning. )
  4. Plan for Monday
    • ACCESS ALL MORNING (vacuum issue, expect news at lunchtime)
    • Original schedule has Sasha trigger tests 8h
  5. Plan for later
    • Acc whiteboard Tues: RF rec & probable spin dance
    • Diamond alignment whenever Hovanes is ready (daytime)
    • David CPP test for 1h
    • Need to reschedule the tagger accidentals study
    • Alexandre's comprehensive runplan now at #9
    • Opportunistic access requests from Sasha [possibly also Scot, Hovanes and Beni]
  6. Notes from this meeting.
    • Use rapid access to get into the hall, nobody needs to go into the tagger hall
    • Schedule Sasha's trigger tests when we get beam back.
    • During the meeting, Beni noticed an HVB-shaped gap in the CDC monitoring plot
    • Low energy TAGH counters were left on, should be switched off

Friday, Dec 6 at 08:45

  1. Last 24h:
    • Now have enough straight track data for GEM at all 3 positions
    • GEM_TRD firmware updated between beam left and beam right running
    • FADC replaced on GEM_TRD. Readout issues with GEM_TRD (see Lubomir's logentry).
    • Richard started completing the uscope threshold scan ~6am ish - working on this until 11am. Busy (UConn) until 5pm.
    • Solenoid is ramping (Tim/Beni)
    • Hovanes disabled the alarms on two TAGH channels which have faulty HV boards
  2. Issues
  3. Reports
  4. Plan for today
    • Start solenoid ramping
    • Access at ~11 or when Richard finishes uscope scan
    • (Empty target before Richard does tagger accidentals measurement) (postpone these)
    • Fill target.
    • CDC & TOF scans
    • DIRC commissioning field-on
    • Opp access request from Sasha 30 mins to replace fcal fadcs, Nick, Colin, Beni...
  5. Plan for later
    • Reschedule tagger accidentals
    • Alexandre's comprehensive runplan now at #5
    • Spin dance likely Monday or Tuesday. We can have beam for some/most of this time.
    • Diamond alignment likely on Wednesday?
  6. Notes from this meeting.
    • Access at 11 for work as above
    • Alignment on Saturday as stable beam most likely
    • uscope threshold scan top priority
    • DIRC commissioning can use amo if necessary
    • try to reschedule tagger accidentals
    • No weekend meetings planned at present

Thursday, Dec 5 at 08:45

  1. Last 24h:
    • Straight tracks during the day, Justin & Sean working to debug recon and analyze the data
    • Sean got the general detector checkout done.
    • Sasha did the PS threshold scan and set up the PS trigger for Richard's uscope scan
    • Sasha set up trigger config for straight tracks excluding uscope so Richard can work independently
    • Richard's uscope scans half done, interrupted by ghost PSS button press from tagger hall, no beam from approx 9pm - 1am?
    • Lubomir's logentry
  2. Issues
    • Solenoid alarm
    • PSS fault
    • GEM cable or module swap
  3. Plan for today
    • After the meeting (TBD Justin), move GEM to position 2, fix electronics problem, then take more data until ~4pm?
    • Move GEM to position 3, then take more data until ~6am Friday?
  4. Plan for later
  5. Notes from this meeting.
    • Also need to check the GEM readout config
    • Beam time request from David for CPP
    • Radiation levels report from Alexandre
    • Repeated alarms for TAGH 151
