<- Back to Run Coordination Meetings: Spring 2017 Run

Saturday, February 18

  1. Accelerator Status
    • Beam was mostly stable in the last 24 hrs
      • 4 downtime incidents of more than 30 minutes:
        • Hall A setup (2hrs)
        • Hall D Orbit Drifted (37min) [1]
        • Optics check to clear 1S00 trips (32min) [2]
        • 1L23 (ongoing since 6:35 AM) [3]

    • BPM calibration
      • All 6 BPMs are now in sync with each other! [4]

  1. Hall-D/GlueX items
    • In the last 24 hours:
      • ABU 16.73 hrs (5.80 + 5.32 + 5.61), BANU 1.73 hrs (0.28 + 0.72 + 0.73)
      • Total triggers collected: M
    • Better settings for JTV 7 Nitrogen supply valve

    • Software issues:
      • Trouble starting Event Viewer [6]
      • CSS unavailable for about 1 hour (network problem?) [7] [8]
      • RootSpy twice went down in an unusual mode:
      • first, for 40 minutes at 11 AM [9]
      • and from about midnight to 6 AM due to stalled gluon108
      • plus a few restarts in accordance with standard recipies

    • The usual DAQ and RootSpy issues make shifts entertaining
  1. Monitoring
  2. Run Plan
    • Production, production, production...
    • Harp scan
    • Sascha's trigger studies?
  3. Offline Analysis?
  4. Any Other Business?

  1. Accelerator Status
    • Hall was in controlled access from 7:00 till 16:30 for RF separator studies
      • Work on TRD GEM by Kondo during this time
      • Alexandre has retrieved supplemental dosimetry from the tagger
      • Production restarted at 17:30
    • Stable beam since then (max 10 minutes off on 2 occasions) [10]
    • Radiation levels are about the same as earlier [11]
    • Harp scans: MCC and ours.
      • In terms of (Sigma_X, Sigma_Y) at 5C11, 5C11B and radiator:
        • (0.83, 0.32), (0.63, 0.24), (0.68, ??? - the fit has failed)
        • Beam is ~20% tighter in X and twice narrower in Y comparing with a day ago
        • Photon transmission is about the same as a day ago
    • BPM calibration?
      • AD00 BPM is no longer the same as AD00C BCM but only 40% of it [12]
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    • In the last 24 hours:
      • ABU 10.32 hrs (0 + 4.54 + 5.78), BANU 2.13 hrs (0 + 1.17 + 0.96)
      • Total triggers collected: 1046 M
    • The usual DAQ and RootSpy issues make shifts entertaining
  3. Monitoring
  4. Run Plan
    • Production, production, production...
    • Sascha's trigger studies?
  5. Offline Analysis?
  6. Any Other Business?

  1. Accelerator Status
    • Stable accelerator running over the last 24 hours
    • Harp scans:
      • MCC scans before and after Todd's script
"Good enough -- horizontal convergence is nearly spot on, and vertical convergence is a little shallow but ok."
      • Our scan: before and after Todd's script
      • In terms of (Sigma_X, Sigma_Y) at 5C11, 5C11B and radiator:
        • Before: (1.31, 0.63), (1.08, 0.73), (1.03, 0.41)
        • After  : (1.07, 0.51), (0.79, 0.50), (0.78, 0.32)
    • Convergence studies from Hovanes: Feb 15 vs Feb 9
      • Beam sigma at the radiator: 0.6cm (Feb 15) vs 0.5cm (Feb 9)
"... uncertainties ... a lot larger compared to Feb 9. It is hard to make any conclusions about the improvement of the spot."
    • Work on RF separation will start at 7:30 AM today and last for 2-3 hours
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    • In the last 24 hours:
      • ABU 17.66 hrs (4.97 + 6.37 + 6.32), BANU 2.21 hrs (1.27 + 0.40 + 0.54)
      • Total triggers collected: 1856 M
    • A usual assortment of DAQ crashes
    • RootSpy tips:
    • New BCAL gain constants in ccdb [15]
  3. Monitoring
    • A new instance of 32ns ADC-TDC offset: [16]
  4. Run Plan
    • 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM ==> Hall safety walk-through (After RADCON does it job)
    • 7:30 AM - about 10 AM ==> MCC works on RF separation
    • A new harp scan after RF separation work is done
    • Production data
  5. Offline Analysis?
  6. Any Other Business?
