<- Back to Run Coordination Meetings: Spring 2017 Run

Monday, February 20

  1. Accelerator Status over the last 48 hrs
    • Beam was mostly stable but with some increase in trip frequency [1] [2]
      • Apparently, to turn on/off Hall A beam, our beam has to be taken down as well for a few minutes
      • 2 downtime incidents of more than 30 minutes:
        • Continuation of 1L23 issue from Saturday (1.5 hrs) [3]
        • Work on 5th pass separator (42min at 11:30 AM) [4]
    • Harp scan on Feb 18
      • MCC scans at 5C11 and 5C11B and our scan at radiator
        • (Sigma_X, Sigma_Y) is (0.88, 0.37), (0.71, 0.28), and (0.60, 0.18). This is consistent with the previous scan 2 days ago.
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    • In the last 48 hours:
      • ABU 14.60 hrs (2.74 + 6.11 + 5.76), BANU 3.24 hrs (2.05 + 0.74 + 0.45)
      • Total triggers collected: 1648 M
    • 2 parasitic TRD runs have been taken with different gas mixtures.
    • Trigger studies were performed by Sascha both on Staurday and Sunday
  3. Issues
    • Once, the goniometer got stuck moving, and Hovanes had to fix it [5]
    • May be, related to the above - "unknown" diamond orientation [6]
    • Puzzling CSS problem with TOF FADC scalers: [7]
    • RootSpy issues:
      • "Reset" does not reset all histograms [8] [9] - Fixed by David - Still broken? [10]
      • No reset of normalization for pi0 plot at "reset" [11] - Fixed by David
      • Run number on the HDMONITOR elog plots [12] is stuck at 30653 [13]
    • DAQ issues:
      • Zero counting rate for some ROCs [14] while occupancy plots are normal
      • Sergey did ~30 min of DAQ testing during the day
  4. Monitoring
  5. Run Plan
    • Production, production, production...
    • Sascha's trigger studies (2-3 hrs)
    • Parasitic TRD run (~30 min)
  6. Offline Analysis?
  7. Any Other Business?

Saturday, February 18

  1. Accelerator Status
    • Beam was mostly stable in the last 24 hrs [19]
      • 4 downtime incidents of more than 30 minutes (and a few <10 minutes):
        • Hall A setup (30min at 4PM)
        • Hall D Orbit Drifted (37min at 6PM) [20]
        • Optics check to clear 1S00 trips (32min at 4AM) [21]
        • 1L23 (ongoing since 6:35 AM) [22]
    • BPM calibration
      • All 6 BPMs are now in sync with each other! [23] [24]
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    • In the last 24 hours:
      • ABU 16.73 hrs (5.80 + 5.32 + 5.61), BANU 1.73 hrs (0.28 + 0.72 + 0.73)
      • Total triggers collected: 1813 M
    • Better settings for JTV 7 Nitrogen supply valve
    • Oscillating target pressure? [25]
    • Progress on fixing random 32ns shift of TDC times [26]
    • Software issues:
      • Trouble starting Event Viewer [27]
      • CSS was unavailable for about 1 hour (network problem?) [28] [29]
      • RootSpy twice went down in an unusual mode:
        • first, for 40 minutes at 11 AM [30]
        • and from about 1 AM to 6 AM due to stalled gluon118
        • plus a few restarts in accordance with standard prescriptions
        • In 3 runs in a row, reconstruction efficiency was 20%, 30%, 50% of the template [31]
      • 3 latest shift summary reports mention DAQ reboots only 2 times! Unbelievable!!!
  3. Monitoring
  4. Run Plan
    • Production, production, production...
    • Harp scan
    • Sascha's trigger studies?
  5. Offline Analysis?
  6. Any Other Business?

  1. Accelerator Status
    • Hall was in controlled access from 7:00 till 16:30 for RF separator studies
      • Work on TRD GEM by Kondo during this time
      • Alexandre has retrieved supplemental dosimetry from the tagger
      • Production restarted at 17:30
    • Stable beam since then (max 10 minutes off on 2 occasions) [32]
    • Radiation levels are about the same as earlier [33]
    • Harp scans: MCC and ours.
      • In terms of (Sigma_X, Sigma_Y) at 5C11, 5C11B and radiator:
        • (0.83, 0.32), (0.63, 0.24), (0.68, ??? - the fit has failed)
        • Beam is ~20% tighter in X and twice narrower in Y comparing with a day ago
        • Photon transmission is about the same as a day ago
    • BPM calibration?
      • AD00 BPM is no longer the same as AD00C BCM but only 40% of it [34]
  2. Hall-D/GlueX items
    • In the last 24 hours:
      • ABU 10.32 hrs (0 + 4.54 + 5.78), BANU 2.13 hrs (0 + 1.17 + 0.96)
      • Total triggers collected: 1046 M
    • The usual DAQ and RootSpy issues make shifts entertaining
  3. Monitoring
  4. Run Plan
    • Production, production, production...
    • Sascha's trigger studies?
  5. Offline Analysis?
  6. Any Other Business?
