Detailed Activities

1. Prior to beam activities

Estimated time (3 -4 Shifts: 1 Day)

  • With Radcon support, Hall D techs uncable and remove start counter from cryostat
  • With Radcon support, Target Group secures target gas, inerts the target piping, and bleeds vacuum chamber to atmospheric pressure
  • With Radcon support, Target Group removes foam portion of cryostat
  • With Radcon support, Target Group removes foam portion of cryostat
  • With Radcon support, Target Group removes superinsulation around target cell
  • With Radcon support, Target Group removes target cell
  • With Radcon support, Target Group mounts Carbon ladder in place of the gas cell
  • With Radcon support, Target Group, Foam portion of cryostat is put back in place, vacuum pumps on
  • With Radcon support, Hall D techs Start counter put back in place, cables attached
  • With Radcon support, Hall D techs Target inserted into solenoid
  • Survey adjusts position in solenoid
  • Hall D techs Beamline assembled and pump
  • Hall D techs Ramp up the magnet

2. Calibration before production runs

  • Establish typical tagged photon beam
  • Harp scans for the electron Beam (and PS)
  • Initial detector check out
  • Equalize CCAL gains (calibrate CCAL)
  • TAC run
